Description

This is a discussion group for professional translators of English <> Spanish. Our main topic is terminology, but from time to time we discuss other matters such as ethics, client issues, dictionaries, online resources, marketing yourself, education and accreditation, etc. List members normally move all chat threads and cultural stuff to SpTranslators_chat, our "chat area," after about 3-4 messages. Have a look at our FAQs here.

This is NOT intended to be a job leads forum. If you want to post or search for job leads, please refer to the "tr_jobs", "jobs-translators", and "translation-jobs" lists, which are dedicated specifically to those purposes.

NOTE: Due to an increased number of spamming incidents, anonymous subscriptions (such as xyz123@hotmail.com) are not accepted. When submitting your request to join, please give us some background information about yourself and state the direction you work in, ENG > SPA or SPA > ENG. The moderators will reject 'blind' requests not containing this information.

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding. Gracias, y disfruta.

Owner: Mary C. Maloof-Fleck. Co-Moderators: Leon Hunter, Terry S.

Some one whose education is primarily in English will have heard or read the expression, "Beware of Greeks bearing gifts." Is there an equivalent in Spanish?
