Phil,
Thanks, just tried as you suggested but after AvenueA, QuestionMarket
& DoubleClick were deleted there was nothing in my recycle bin.

I googled AvenueA & found a step by step procedure to remove it
(& other tracking cookies) but those three still came back...I got
a second scanner Ad-Aware2007 but that doesn't eliminate then for
long either.
Anything else I can try?

after the spyware is removed from your computer, it is most likely in your recycle bin and reinstalls the next time you start your computer.....try removing it...

try going to search in your start menu and enter the name of the spyware.....this will tell you if it has attached to any files or folders.....you might try...
