Hello ,

When Google, Facebook and Twitter was launched, no one thought that it will
become our necessity, I come to know a very interesting and innovative concept,
could be another miracle in coming months and hence sharing with you, Judge
yourself!!

Advertisers are paying now to the end-users to see the ads of their products and
services!!

The platform has been tested and established now and end-users are being paid
every month since Novmber'09, continuously for 7 months and now it's going to be
forever. Lacs of rupees rewards have been reached to end users and will touch 1
Crore (10 Million) in just few days.

Thousands of end-users are getting rewards by way of cheques & gift vouchers
every month, its reward to see the ads of products in their personal time, the
best part of the concept, end user see the ads of only his/her interest &
matching with the profile.

Check the list of recipients of rewards, proof of payments and testimonials of
thousands of users:

There is no limitation as far as I know. Any number you prefer you can use,
the more the join, the slower the fetching of data.

Hi All,

Here a i have a problem with in Database mirroring environment.

I have a huge unsent log in Asynchronous (high Performance mode)

Its current sending rate is @ 452 kb. Is there any way to increase this value.
What is standard sending rate ..

What are the components on which Current send rate is dependent, so that we can
modify and get the mirroring in sync asap ..

Your help is very much appreciated

Hi Shyam,
Basically the sending rate depends upon your network speed. 452 kbps looks like
bit slow. Why is it low is your network over loaded or are you doing mirroring
across geographical locations over a slow connection. Are you using the same nic
for both data and mirror traffic?

Tail log backup is nothing but transaction log backup. Basically in case of
database failure the last transaction log backup taken before recovering the
database is called tail log backup. Check below

In my environment Login Auditing is currently set to "Failed Logins Only"

This is probably a carry over from the old servers were it caused excessive log
files.

However for compliance we should monitor both failed and successful logins.

Is it posible to enable "Both failed and successful logins" and monitor log file
size ?

Can log files be set to cyclic so they fill to a size then delete the oldest
entries?

Hi,
The solution for this would be as we cannot reset the error log based upon the
size.

1. Configure the number of error logs to say 99.
2. Create a job to reset the error log say every day (dbcc errorlog)

I  never did it but I think you can do it.....I copied Litespeed help content
below.

Restore Schemas in the LiteSpeed Console
Before you can recover objects or execute a SELECT statement, you must read the
backup file to create an index of restorable objects. To restore a schema,
complete the following procedures in order:

Run the Read Backup wizard

Review the backup file contents

Restore the schema
Note: This topic only covers unfamiliar information. It does not include all
step and field descriptions.
Run the Read Backup Wizard
Before you can recover objects or execute a SELECT statement, you must read the
backup file to create an index of restorable objects. The index is a .lsm file
that is saved in the same directory as the backup file.
Notes:

You cannot restore objects from tape backups or TSM files.
LiteSpeed may take a long time to read the backup file for large databases,
often with little response in the LiteSpeed Console. To prevent this, select
Optimize the object level recovery speed on the Backup wizard Options page to
create the index during the backup process.
To run the Read Backup wizard

Select the Object Level Recovery pane (CTRL+D+3).

Select Read Backup Wizard.

Complete the wizard.
Note: LiteSpeed must be installed on the server instance you select on the
Backup Source page.
Review the Backup File Contents
After you read the backup file, its contents appear in the Overview tab (click
here to see the Overview tab). The Overview tab has the following panes:

1. Objects Grid
The grid displays all of the restorable objects in backup file. You can filter
the objects that appear in the list by selecting the appropriate options in the
toolbar.
2. Script Preview
The script preview displays the DDL script. To script an object, right-click it
in the objects grid and select Generate DDL Script. For tables, you can also
include constraints, indexes, and triggers in the script by selecting the
appropriate options in the Object Level Recovery navigation pane. You can script
more than one object, and scripted objects have beside them in the objects
grid. To view all of the scripts in the script preview, click .
Note: You can save, copy, print, and search the script in LiteSpeed, but you
cannot edit or execute it in the script preview pane.
3. Table Data Preview
The table data preview displays the contents of the table. To preview a table's
data, right-click the table in the objects grid and select Preview Data. You can
only preview the data of one table at a time, and the previewed table has
beside it in the objects grid. A table that you preview and script has beside
it.
Tips: For panes that have grids, you can sort, group, move, and remove the
columns

To sort and group the results, right-click a column heading and select the
appropriate options.
To add or remove columns, right-click a column heading and select Column
Chooser. Add a column by dragging it from the list into the column headings.
Remove a column by dragging its column heading into the list.
To move a column, drag the column heading to the new location.
Restore the Schema
To restore the schema

»
Select one or more objects in the objects grid and select Recover Schema.

I have a database with different schemas, and I was asked to restore only DBO
schema from the lightspeed backup file. Is there any way to restore a single
schema in Sql server 2005.

Hi,

To take log backup you need to give this command:

BACKUP DATABASE DB_NAME TO DISK='PATH\BACKUP_NAME' WITH NOTRUNCATE_ONLY

Hi

We requires that unsuccessful and successful login attempts be logged
With the excessive log files now being created is it recommended/approved to
only capture unsuccessful logins for Microsoft SQL Servers ?

For one month 141,316 entries have been added to the SQL log file on our server
Is this large number normal ?
Will the log file become unmanageable ?

There is also a significant number of logins for USA\sqlsvc - Why?

It all depends upon your requirement. If your audit requirement requires for
both successful & unsuccessful logins, you have to record it. Put a script to
recycle the error logs daily.

HI Sentil,

Error itself telling that your process has been killed as a Dead Lock victim. It
means at the same time you are running some other process or jobs also, that is
creating dead lock. You can check those...or if you want to catch dead lock
information....enable the trace flag 1222 by DBCC TRACEON command. This trace
will log all dead lock information in your sql server error log.

This approach will not work in OLTP systems which requires 24/7 availability. If
you put in single user mode it will be a complete down time for the application.
The better approach would be to run the reindex during which the system is used
minimally.
