I'll second the CLR topic.

Subject: [sqlguru] Re: Most important SQL Server Topic of the year
With the introduction of SQL Server 2005, SQL Server has been
expanded programmatically with new or enhanced components such as
Notification Services, Reporting Services, Service Broker, Analysis
Services, Replication, Common Language Runtime (CLR) and many other
tools. It was difficult to choose my favorite "SQL Server Topic of
the year for 2006" since many of these components have become
revolutionary to career path of the SQL Server professional. My
nomination for "SQL Server Topic of the year for 2006" is the
addition of the SQL Server 2005 CLR. As a result of the CLR and
other SQL Server Components, the SQL Server professional has been
lobbed into the world of Application Development.
