Hello,
For those of you who are interested, the Story City wastewater permit
hearing is Thursday evening, Feb 8, at 7:00PM at City Hall in Story
City. The permit allows increased discharges of ammonia and BOD
(biological oxygen demand) into the Skunk River. Several environmental
groups are opposing these increases. Attached is a brief summary of the
issues. If you enjoy and value the Skunk River, please consider attending
the meeting. Sorry for the short notice.
