On Saturday May 12th the Squaw Creek Watershed Coalition will again be
participating in the IOWATER State-wide Snapshot. Last year's
participants have been notified and most have agreed to volunteer again
this Spring, but we're adding an additional 10 sites to the 45 sampled
in October, so we're in need of a few additional IOWATER Volunteers and
will welcome the assistance of all interested citizens. Volunteers
without IOWATER training may assist at 1 or more sites within the
watershed (Story, Boone, and Hamilton Counties).

IOWATER Volunteers, please check your chemicals and equipment so they
can be replaced prior to May 12th!

> sent to the Iowa City Hygienic Lab for testing to verify the reliability

> (1) Attend a Pre-Snapshot Meeting Monday, May 7th at 7:00 PM at the Ames
> Public Library in the Founders Suite located at 515 Douglas. At this
> meeting you will learn from Lynette Seigley of IOWATER about the value
> of the statewide snapshot and find out how the snapshot data for Squaw
> Creek can help us to obtain grant funding.

> (2) Participate in snapshot sampling on Saturday May 12th. We will
> meet at Brookside Park in Ames at 9:00 AM where you will get
> instructions, directions, and sample bottles. The samples and the data
> you collect must be returned to Brookside Park by 1:00 PM.

> Lynette will be able to replenish outdated, used or missing supplies.
> Please check all dates and sampling equipment to make sure you
> will be able to sample at the snapshot. You must contact us prior to
