Creek Chat Tomorrow-Thursday March 5
The College Creek Restoration Project needs your help with decision-making about
wildlife. Project funding is available to improve or alter existing habitat
conditions near the stream. Tomorrow evening’s Chat will focus on birds. Dr.
Steve Dinsmore and his graduate student from ISU will lead the Chat, sharing
their data on existing birds in the project area. They will also discuss ideas
for collecting information on birds you see in the area, including at feeders,
and sharing this information with the project.
Please join us tomorrow evening to share your preferences about birds and their
habitat. We meet at the Ames Middle School Media Center from 6:30-8:00pm.

Summary of Beaver Creek Chat - February, 24th 2009
The relocation of beavers within the project area was discussed. Removal is
planned during a two week window after the ice goes out (around the first week
of March). The beavers will be trapped and relocated to a farm in Esterville
where the landowner is trying to create wetlands.
