Fellow SRI Members,

it is my honour and pleasure to officially confirm to the World that Zambia has now finally joined the rest of the world in adopting SRI. We did develop our first nursary in December 2005, transplanting has been done and seedlings coming up successsfully with promising signs. Water management is under control with record keeping. Soils very good, used composite manure.

 

We have photos for each stape taken and soon to forward them for all to see.

 

My deepest heartfelt thanks to Prof. Norman Uphoff who has been incouraging me since 2003, including ECHO notes from EDN on SRI which I received in 2003 also. Zambia is part of Southern Africa experiencing extreme hunger and a big support is required to promote SRI to save lives.
