Thanks for your continuing encouragement of the SRI effort in Nepal. With
Rajendra Upraity now fired up, things could move faster. I heard from a
Nepali researcher at the World Rice Researcher this past weekend that he
has gotten coverage on national television of the fine results obtained in
Morang district. He is proposing also funding from the government for an
expanded effort. We have needed such initiative coming 'from below.' His
results are indeed great, on a part with what we see in other countries but
have not (often) seen in Nepal, for unknown reasons. I will send my paper
for the SRI workshop at the WRRC. With all best wishes,
