HOW TO JOIN THE SRI KNOWLEDGE-SHARING
COMMUNITY
Over the years, the number of persons with whom we have been in
contact regarding the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) has been
steadily growing. The number is almost 1,000 persons in more
than 40 countries. We are currently setting up several alternatives
that will enable people interested in SRI to remain informed of
development and to interact with the emerging SRI 'community of
practice.' Please let us know which one(s) can best serve your
needs.
To respond, simply hit 'Reply' and then indicate which options you would like. There is also a form below for updating your information for our records. Feel free to share this information about our electronic lists with others who might be interested in joining them. I hope to hear from you soon.

A. Check ANY OR ALL of the options you are interested in. Note: There is no charge for any of these services -- and your e-mail address will not be shared with others.
___Option 1) Join SRI-L, a Global SRI electronic discussion group (interactive).
This will enable you to follow and participate in discussions of technical SRI issues, to share ideas and resources, or give/receive advice from peers around the world through this e-mail listserv. (Archives/summaries of discussions will be posted periodically on the SRI website for others to benefit from as this should build up valuable knowledge and experience.)
___Option 2) Join SRIupdate-L, a Global SRI announcement list (non-interactive).
Receive periodically notification of country-specific updates, research reports, events, new extension materials, etc. that are being posted on the SRI website, with capsule summaries so you know that the reports contain. URLs for the full documents available on the website will be posted, or you can request that any particular items be sent to you by e-mail.
___Option 3) Join an on-going national SRI electronic discussion group (country:____________). There are already in-country discussion lists in the Philippines, Nepal and Indonesia. We can put you in contact with the list managers. If you are interested in starting up a listserv for a country that doesn't have one, please do let us know. Those who have established ones already can give advice. (Or if you know of a country-specific listserv that we don't know about, let us know that too!)
B. Country-specific SRI information is available at http://ciifad.cornell.edu/sri/countries/
Many countries now have national SRI networks. These include: Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Cuba, Indonesia, Laos, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand so far. If you do not know who is working on SRI in your country, we can put you in touch with them. If you are interested in setting up a network in your country where one does not already exist, we can supply you with a list of others in the country, from our SRI data base, who might be interested in joining a new national network. We can also upload information from your area on the global SRI website at http://ciifad.cornell.edu/sri/
C. Do you have any other questions about the Global SRI community?
