Hope to talk to you more in the future.

Subject: [StormwaterPro] Introduction
Hello All,
I am a newbie to this forum and as my welcome aboard email suggested
I will introduce myself. Maybe some of you could respond in kind as I
haven't a clue who any of you guys are?
I am a student hydrologist with the USGS (US Geological Survey).
While my scholastic focus is in wetland issues, my current duties are
primarily streamgaging of urban and rural streams. I am currently based
on the floodplains of the West Tennessee area and as you all can imagine
stormwater issues are contentious at best. Especially in the Memphis
area. Building on the floodplains and destruction of the surrounding
wetlands have seemed to exacerbate our urban flooding problems.
I am a firm believer that one cannot differentiate the natural world
from the man-made world without some form of repercussion. (For every
action there is an equal and opposite reaction). That is not to say
that all we do is wrong, just at times does not work out as
anticipated.
I am a graduate student at the University of Memphis. A mother of
3. Work full time. Raise tropical plants, lizards, and fish. And
cultivating a small wetland garden, AKA "The Swamp".
Thank you for allowing me to join your forum. I hope to learn a lot
from this group.
yours,
Tanya Scheff
