Storm water survey   Message List

Good morning, I am new to this discussion group and I am hoping to learn a lot
here. My name is Francine Rogers and I am a graduate student at the Harvard
University Extension School currently working to complete my research thesis.
My research topic is on the control of storm water from urban properties. More
specifically I want to examine if installation of environmental methods on urban
properties is effective to reduce the volume of storm water leaving these
properties and entering local waterways. And how can the use of these
environmental methods be emphasized over the traditional concrete drainage
systems? The data collection method being employing is an on-line survey
powered by Zoomerang™ of people that are knowledgeable of storm water control
methods and potentially urban development projects. This survey will gather
information on factors that influence the choices of storm water control
methods, the methods that people are currently employing and why.

I am writing to you through the stormwaterpro discussion group to ask for your
assistance. Your knowledge and personal experience in the area of storm water
management will be of great value to this project. While there are some
questions that pertain more to people involved in implementing storm water
programs, everyone’s feedback in important. Feedback from people not
constructing storm water projects but involved as consults and regulators will
give the results more depth. To that end, I am requesting your participation in
this on-line survey. I believe you will find the results to be of interest.

A website has been developed as a gateway to the on-line survey and can be
accessed at www.stormwatersurvey.com. This website provides additional
information pertaining to the study and will contain the tabulated results at
the conclusion of the study. All feedback responses are completely voluntary
and anonymous and should only take about 15 minutes to complete. It is an
opportunity to express his/her own opinion on storm water control methods.
Participants and others can benefit from knowing how other professionals, in the
aggregate, are addressing the issue of storm water control and may help to
benchmark practices.

Thank you for your time and attention to this request. If you know of anyone
else that would be interested in participating, please feel free to forward the
website information. Please contact me at frogers@... with any
comments or questions.
Thank you,
Francine Rogers
