ours choose a fairly low-end notebook last year. I tried to convince
her to wait until the INtel MacBooks came out, but she wanted a
windows machine because that is what her, son's had, she was used to
the software etc.. Boy do I dread getting calls about that machine. I
have nearly thrown it across the room a number of times, wether it is
setting up wireless, dealing with photos, setting up email, or what,
it is an unbelievably frustrating thing for me to deal with.
(I don't know about you guys, but as much as I want to help friends
out, I do get a little sick of people assuming that because you're a
software person, you also have the experience and temperament of an
IT help-desk person. As we have a lot of non-techie more senior
friends I sometimes feel like the only guy in the neighborhood with a
pickup truck. But I protest too much..I guess its good to have
something to offer - just wish it didn't have such an effect on my
blood-pressure.)
