One of UK Based Leading Graphics Group worth of around Euro 25 millions, launching their Graphics R&D Cenre in India. Group Develop the software for open document and print solutions with broad technology portfolio includes external and embedded RIPs and software for file conversion and manipulation. Their technology is found at the heart of world-leading products used in the print and document industry and includes flagship brands technologies.
Partners include the world's leading vendors of digital Pre- Press Systems, large format Colour Printers, Colour Proofing Systems, Digital Copiers and Printers and Software Applications.
Major sales and marketing focus in Continental Europe, United Kingdom, North America, Asia (including Japan), Other countries with current year sales of Euro 10 million. Client's Software R&D comprises of a number of distributed offices engaged in research, development, testing and maintenance of software in multiple locations in UK and USA. We are now planning to establish a new centre in India to form an integral part of our R&D team.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Manager with a technical background who is capable of establishing and managing our Development Centre in India. The position reports to the Director of Research and Development.
Principal Responsibilities:
1. Establish and Grow the Graphics Development Centre team in India
2. Working with the Administration and IT Teams in UK to establish a suitable Office, Working Environment, and Facilities for the Centre in India
3. Recruit and Manage Technical and Non-Technical Human Resources for the Centre
4. Provide Technical Leadership and act as the Mentor to the team
5. Ensure best Organisation, Practices and Processes are in place within the centre for quality and on time delivery of projects
6. Working with the Company Product Managers, Project Managers and Technical Services teams ensure appropriate skills and resources are available and assigned to the tasks and Projects allocated the Centre.
7. Plan and Manage the Centre annual budget to ensure all Centre and Project Objectives are met.
Essential skills and experience:
1. BE / B.Tech / ME / M Tech / BCA / MCA / MBA
2. 8-10 years experience gained in software management including technical people management and Project Management.
3. Knowledge / exposure to all aspects of Software Development Life Cycle and Processes including Testing, Support and Maintenance.
4. Knowledge of Publishing / Printing / Electronics Document Industry.
5. Strong communication skills.
6. Excellent written and verbal English language skills are essential.
7. Good problem solving and analytical abilities.
Desirable skills:
1. Knowledge and exposure of PostScript RIPs and Output Devices such as, Laser Printers, Image Setters and Colour Printers.
2. Knowledge of Pre-Press or Electronic Publishing Systems.
3. Knowledge and experience of working with a Page Description language eg. PDF.
4. Knowledge and exposure to Electronics Document Viewing, Editing and Manipulation softwares.
This role is more than Manager and act as an Entrepreneur for entire Development activities.
