I strongly support STV but I also strongly support transparency in the process
of elections. I believe the two are compatible but it does concern me that a
number of public authorities in the UK that have STV elections are not being as
transparent as they could be.

I decided to see what information I could get under the Freedom of Information
Act 2000.

http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/results_sheet_and_ballot_data

I found that I was able to get results sheets that had not been previously
published online from the University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation
Trust but I am still waiting on my request for the full ballot data.

Does anyone else have any experience of trying get ballot data using the Freedom
of Information Act?

regards,

John Cross
