Here is some information on Grouply:
 
A few months ago I wrote the following in response to another question about Grouply.  Feel free to forward it.

There's been a lot of discussion on Moderator Groups and everywhere else lately about Grouply, so no doubt you've heard of it. 

Grouply wants your personal information so it can congeal your Group posts into one glob, analyze it for you (because it's too hard for YOU to do, it says), and then regurgitate it.  This is supposedly desirable for you.  And oh, by the way, in the process, they get to form a monster database of previously private information.

If you sign up they get humongous amounts of information about you (and everyone else in the Groups you're subbed to) and all your Groups' posts, because when you turn over your Yahoo or Google IDs and passwords to them, they not only grab your incoming group emails, they get the entire archives.  That's a bunch of extremely valuable hijacked data in the form of your personal info and millions of live email addresses and, BTW, a violation of every Group's TOS.

First we began seeing blatant and pushy promotional posts in some Groups, then the angry member posts accusing them of data gathering, identity theft, spamming and more, and now we see Grouply's rebuttal posts and protestations of total, angelic innocence.  This war of words became so fierce so quick Grouply has already had to put a banner on their opening page to try to defend themselves.  As you read posts in Groups and forums in various places on the 'net, be aware that many (if not all) pro-Grouply posts are put there by Grouply shills.

I'm assuming that at best, they'll eventually sell that vast database of personal information.  Others are assuming personally identifying information is already being used for identity theft, and that spam is being sent out using email addresses found in Groups.  There's also already a glut of reports about people receiving spam from @grouply.com addresses.

Grouply has designed a sneaky system whereby someone can join a Group, get approved under a real email address, then switch their membership to their Grouply address without permission from the Listowner.  This forces every Group owner to go into their logs frequently to check for Grouply users.  Grouply could have given Group owners the right to make their Groups opt-IN only ensuring the safety and privacy of their members, but instead they made it opt-out -- turning all Moderators into cops who have to invest a lot of time in checking for Grouply users.
        Also, "...if a group is set so that only members can access archives, if a group member makes it available on Grouply, it's available to anyone and everyone through that website."

Grouply wants to archive all Yahoo and Google Groups.  They say it's completely, totally secure and, of course, completely, totally free.
        Imagine the programming hours, hardware, hosting and other resources required to create something like Grouply and then ask yourself if you would pay $1.3 million in startup costs to design and engineer Grouply and then buy the hosting and bandwidth required to offer Grouply free to millions of users... just for the fun of it.  Or, would you provide venture capital for Grouply without a reasonable expectation of a good ROI?  Of course not.  So I don't believe much of what Grouply says.  Grouply may be free to join, for now, but your name, email address, passwords, IP address, cookies, etc., are worth bundles and they want you to give all that to them, along with millions of other posters' email addresses and their information. 

Grouply promises they'll play nice now, but we all know startups sell out, later, and with that sale goes your information and lots of people end up making lots of money with your personal, private information.  Here's Grouply's 'privacy' policy:

         "Grouply will not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies except (a) to provide Grouply products or services that you have requested, (b) when we otherwise have your permission, or (c) under the following circumstances:

"We transfer information about you if Grouply is acquired by, reorganized or merged with another company. In such an event, you will have the opportunity to ask not to receive promotional information following any such change of control."

"... the opportunity to ask" usually consists of a notice in fine print buried on a back page of a website which no one ever sees, and reorganization, transfer or merging can consist of management renaming and rebranding itself, rendering your 'rights' moot.  IOW, you have no reasonable expectation of privacy with Grouply and when you sign up you put your Groups and all the other members in jeopardy too.

I am aware of some of this info. I have heard rumors that it is the Government that is selling drugs. I have heard rumors of green plants on Mars. For decades have heard of large machines on the Moon.
I have become aware of increasing visuals of alien faces in the media. I have seen Alien faces in the back grounds of food commercials. With more & more movies coming out with an alien theme, I realize that the powers that be, are slowly getting us accustomed to the idea of alien life forms, living here on Earth.  You can feel a change in the air. There is something afoot, it like humanity is holding it's breath, waiting.
 
Ronald Reagan was quoted as saying that we have much bigger things to worry about, then each other.
 
 
It is interesting that Larry Niven wrote a book (Footfall) about an under ground Air Force Base in the state of Washington.
 
 
Larry Niven worked a lot with NASA. Did he know something??? 
 
I think the video gives us much to think about. Personally, I don't know one person that would be willing to watch that video, with it's poor quality, and no visuals to back it up. I have never heard of a Big Nosed Alien, though I have read that there are 5 races of Aliens visiting the planet. All you need to do is read Transformation by Whitley Strieber to realize that aliens are messing with religion.
 
 
If everything he says is true on the video, what can you or me do about it?? How can we stop being that can walk thur walls??   How can we stop the government dealing in drugs??  How can we stop the release of dangerous diseases??   There has always been a rumor that aids was invented by our government. Why is there a sudden increase in Autism?? Why are we really forced to give vaccines to our kids?? 
 
Very scary, but if the aliens have been around for 1000's of years, why have they not taken over??

LA PORTE COUNTY - For years, Pat Harrison thought she was half-crazy.

It's not hard to see why: Hanging around cemeteries late at night can
make people question their sanity. It even caused her ex-husband to
damn
her to hell.

Harrison hasn't been deterred, however. She was ghost hunting again
last
week at a small spot near the Michigan border.

Lightning flashes from a storm to the north and the glow of thousands
of
fireflies didn't help to ease the creepy atmosphere around the
gravestones. But Harrison wasn't fazed; she's used to it by now. When
she was about 5, Harrison's mom began taking her ghost hunting. The
unusual hobby stayed with her into adulthood and, she said, helped
develop a psychic connection with the other side.

After Harrison's son, Chuck, was killed in a motorcycle accident she
decided to start her own spirit-seeking organization, Mystic
Investigations.

If nothing else, the experience has proven her sanity to herself.

"Evidently I'm not (crazy), because a lot of people are doing it," she
said.

For the past four years, she's been taking groups to cemeteries and
other haunted areas around La Porte County looking for ghosts.

Mystics Investigations is made up mostly of Harrison's family and
friends, and the informality of the group lends itself to a different
type of ghost hunt from what can be seen on TV, a less scientific
kind.

There are no thermal imaging cameras, no temperature meters and no
tests
to disprove a possible spirit sighting.

There is not a single person among us who has not contemplated the
mystery of death at one time or another. We all wonder, no matter
what we believe in, what will happen to us after we pass on from this
world. Some believe that everything comes to an end, that life in
this world is our only existence. Others feel that we are born again,
as an old soul in a new body, while others believe that our spirits
pass on to another place... or perhaps even remain behind as ghosts.
We all wonder about such things... and perhaps this is the reason
that we have dreamed up so many rituals and practices dealing with
death. Death has been celebrated and feared since the beginning of
time itself. We have immortalized it with cemeteries, grave markers
and of course, with our darkest and most frightening legends and
lore.
It is a common belief among experts of the occult that cemeteries are
not usually the best places to find ghosts. While most would fancy a
misty, abandoned graveyard to be the perfect setting for a ghost
story, such stories are not as common as you might believe. A
cemetery is meant to be the final stop in our journey from this world
to the next, but is it always that way?
Nearly every ghost enthusiast would agree that a place becomes
haunted after a traumatic event or unexpected death occurs at that
location. History is filled with stories of houses that have become
haunted after a murder has taken place there, or after some horrible
event occurs that echoes over the decades as a haunting.
But what of a haunted cemetery? Do such places really exist? Most
assuredly they do, but ghosts who haunt cemeteries seem to be a
different sort than those you might find lingering in a haunted
house. Most of these ghosts seem to be connected to the cemetery in
some way that excludes events that occurred during their lifetime. As
most spirits reportedly remain in this world because of some sort of
unfinished business in life, this seems to leave out a cemetery as a
place where such business might remain undone.
Graveyard ghosts seem to have a few things in common. These spirits
seems to be connected to the burial ground because of events that
occurred after their deaths, rather than before. In other cases, the
ghosts seem to be seeking eternal rest that eludes them at the spot
where their physical bodies are currently found. Cemeteries gain a
reputation for being haunted for reasons that include the desecration
of the dead and grave robbery, unmarked or forgotten burials, natural
disasters that disturb resting places, or sometimes event because the
deceased was not properly buried at all!

El Campo Santo Cemetery - San Diego, California: This now restored
cemetery has seen much in the way of desecration over the years and
because of the lost burials and unmarked graves, many believe that a
number of ghosts roam the area around it.

Bachelor's Grove Cemetery - Near Chicago: This small and secluded
graveyard is believed to be one of the most haunted places in the
Chicago area. More than 150 documented reports of strange phenomena
have been collected here, including ghost lights, apparitions, odd
photos, unexplained happenings and more.

The Lost Village of Bara-Hack: This vanished town in Connecticut is
still rumored to be haunted by mysterious voices. Tales from the
local graveyard also whisper of apparitions and ghostly images from
the past.

Western Burial Ground - Baltimore: The catacombs of this cemetery
(where Edgar Allan Poe is buried) are located beneath Westminster
Hall and have long been the subject of ghostly tales.. not the last
of which is the unexplained mystery of Poe himself.

Christ Church Cemetery - St. Simon's Island, Georgia: Legend has it
that this cemetery is haunted by a ghostly light. The stories say
that the grave of a woman who was terrified of the dark sometimes
emits a spectral light. Its real-life counterpart had been placed
there by her husband before his own death. The light continued to be
seen long after.

St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 - New Orleans: This spooky graveyard has
long been haunted by a vanishing woman in white who flags down taxi
drivers and asks to be taken home. She vanishes from the car before
they arrive and the driver always discovers that the woman died years
before. To this day, taxi drivers will not pick up women in white
dresses near the cemetery!
The graveyard is also said to be haunted by the ghost of voodoo
queen, Marie Laveau. Her spirit has been reported inside of the
cemetery and even on nearby streets. Believers still come to her tomb
today and leave offerings in hope of being blessed by her
supernatural powers.

Hollywood Memorial Park- Los Angeles: This "cemetery to the stars" is
reportedly haunted by starlet Virginia Rappe, who allegedly died
after a night of debauchery with comedian Fatty Arbuckle. Another
resident ghost is reportedly Rudolph Valentino, who joins a legion of
other spirits near the gates to the adjoining Paramount Studios
complex.


Silver Cliff Cemetery - Colorado: For many decades, ghost lights have
been reported in a tiny miner's cemetery near this Colorado town. The
lights have been studied and examined many times by scientists and by
National Geographic magazine but remain unexplained.

Stepp Cemetery - Indiana: This remote cemetery in the Morgan-Monroe
State Forest has long been considered haunted. Although many legends
exist to explain the ghost, most agree that the graveyard is haunted
by a woman in black who has been seen here for years.

Camp Chase, Ohio: Fresh flowers often mysteriously appear on the
grave of a Confederate soldier who is buried here. It is believed
that they are left behind by the famous "Lady in Gray", a widow who
lost her husband at the terrible prisoner of war camp that was here
during the Civil War. Her ghost has been seen walking among the
tombstones.

Greenwood Cemetery - Decatur, Illinois: Long believed to be one of
the most haunted spots in downstate Illinois (if not the Midwest),
Greenwood Cemetery is filled with legends and stories of ghosts and
haunted places. Among them are the ghost of a young girl who has been
seen walking among the grave in a bridal gown, a weeping woman in
white, ghost lights that are said to be the spirits of flood victims
and even Confederate soldiers who were buried here in unmarked graves
after being taken from a prison train.

Resurrection Cemetery - Chicago, Illinois: The ghost of the girl who
has come to be known as "Resurrection Mary" is one of the most famous
ghosts of Chicagoland. She is believed to have been killed along
Archer Avenue (near the cemetery) after leaving a dance one night.
She was buried in Resurrection Cemetery and has spent the last 80
years traveling the roadways and asking drivers to drop her off at
the cemetery gates. When she arrives there, she always vanishes.

Please adhere to the following guidlines. Some oils can be skin
irritating or even lethal, and should be used with the utmost care and
knowledge.

Skin irritants which should neither be applied directly to the skin or
used in the bath: Bergomot, clove, lemon, lemon grass, lemon verbena,
lime, lemon balm, orange, peppermint, and oregano.

Prolonged inhalation of camphor and ylang ylang may cause headaches.

SO, what's the catch? no one gives away money for nothing. Your email
said nothing of "HOW" we would be making money on Yuwie. Don't you
think that's a bit evasive? It is the natural question that ANY
rational person would ask, yet you avoided mentioning it. That's a
classic sales technique that is used in very unscrupulous businesses.
It may be free to join but then it make take credits to respond to
emails or something of that nature. There are many different
variatiosn on the theme. I have joined many so called, "free sites"
in the past only to find this out too late (after spending a lot of
time creating a profile to my liking, writing about my interests, etc)

ALICE--One lady says she saw something very unusual in the sky last
night near her home. The woman believes it was a UFO, so she called
Three News to investigate it.

We have received several calls about UFO's ever since we aired a
special report in February. This woman said she was a non- believer,
but after last night's encounter, she's now a believer.

Here in the Rancho Allegre neighborhood in Alice located off of State
Highway 281 and 44, an Alice resident said she saw something in the
sky, while doing her laundry on Monday night. So she grabbed a camera
phone and took a picture.

She said this is what came out. On the horizon, she saw this bright
light hovering with what seemed to be a reflection below it. Seconds
later, she said it disappeared totally.

The woman wants to remain anonymous, but believes it may have beem
something other than just a bright light.

"It's possible it could be," said the woman. Off camera: could be? It
could be a UFO. We don't know."

The woman said people who have spoken with her present two theories.
Either it's a full-moon or an airplane flying over the area, but
there was no full-moon Monday night.

"I don't think that's possible for either one of those," the woman
said. "It's definitely something, I don't what it is myself."

When this woman went to work, she said it was the talk around the
water cooler.

"Some are still not believers, though," the woman said. "Some think
it's light, but they don't think it's a UFO."

This 3 News viewer said she's definitely curious over what she saw
over the sky here in Rancho Allegre. She wants someone to investigate
this sighting to see if it was, in fact, a UFO.

'Well, I would like someone to investigate it definitely because now
I'm curious," said the woman. "I want to know."

So she plans to call one of the groups to find out if this was
something out of this world.
