About Woody's
A visit to Woody's River Roo Pub & Grill is truly a unique
experience. The crowd is usually an eclectic mix of locals and
visitors, most of which are always ready to spark up a conversation.
The daytime atmosphere is friendly and laid back, with acoustic
guitarists often entertaining the crowd. Yet nighttime can bring
anything from hard driving blues & rock, to some of the best karaoke
singers in the area. You'll often even see "Woody" and his wife
Christine.

I've gone to the Fuente event at TD in Ellenton last month and picked up a box of the Queen Bs. These are some awesome smokes for under $6.

Don't forget. Tomorrow is the November Sunjug meeting. Tim Crowley will speak on
"The Reluctant Client-side Developer".
I am wagering this is a self referencing title, but I'll let him tell us all
about it. I am also betting that Tim will show us how to enhance existing
HTML-only applications with just a "pinch" of Javascript (most likely Dojo) to
make something to astonish and amaze. But again, I am just guessing.
Here is the official program. see you all there.
Title:
The Reluctant Client-side Developer
Description:
Most Java developers are quite happy to focus their efforts on server-side
code;they view the browser as an untamed world that is plagued by cross-browser
incompatibilities, cryptic markup, and sub-standard scripting languages.
However, new approaches are emerging which attempt to "tame" the browser. In
this talk, Tim will present technologies such as the Dojo toolkit, JSON, and
REST. But more importantly, he'll present it from the perspective of the J2EE
developer. If you've ever wondered how to leverage "Web 2.0" technologies
without becoming an HTML/CSS/JavaScript expert, this talk is for you.
About the presenter:
Tim Crowley is an Enterprise Architect who works for an International
company that makes Machines for Business. By day, he focuses on integrating
global systems. By night, he likes to explore new and emerging technologies.
The event will be hosted by Community Foundation of Sarasota, located at 2635
Fruitville Rd, Sarasota, FL 34237, which is west of exit 210 off I75.
Food and refreshments will be provided by Tek Systems
(http://www.teksystems.com)
