This is the sushiradio.com mailinglist and made for easy communication
between contributers.

If you want to stay informed about latest news ideas and / or have
questions in the meantime, this might be the easiest way.

What the hell is sushiradio?
sushiradio.com is the place for podcasters from all over the world on
topics of their interest, seperated into channels. You, as a listener,
can enjoy the variaty. :)

If you would like to contribute to sushiradio, please mail us at
sushiradiomail at gmail.com!

Sushiradio.com has one goal: To use this fascinating new medium and
spread ideas throughout the world. We figured, that once you have
little audio files and get used to what a podcast is, you are highly
likely to go hunt other podcasts.

Tagline for sushiradio is 'the delicious tidbit for your ears',
because we limit the amount of time to 3-6 min (where I would say max
should be 10 minutes).

We found 'sushiradio around the world' to be the one with the biggest
response rates.

And this is no wonder: One of the things we probably all enjoy with
podcasting is the ability to learn of different strange places all
over the world, from the people living there. Not the polished docu
channel soap stuff, but real stuff.

From my point of view, learning about other things from around is one
of the biggest appeals of podcasting. Efforts like Wikipedia have
shown that we as a society, want to learn. One of the reasons
podcasting is taking off is because it challenges us again to think
and broaden our minds - not the mostly dumbed down stuff from
television.

And this is where you come in. :)

Think about it - what do you know about history? And from what point
of view? Who invented the telefone for examples? (If you don't know,
different encyclopedieas around the world tend to have a very limited
view on that.)

Yesterday, I saw on television a short quiz: 'Which is the oldest
capital city known'? Answer was the capital of Syria, first mentioned
1500 b.c. I immediatly thought - he? what about China? Egypt? And
others?

What do you know about the world? I was once faszinated to do a work
about Belize and find out, many people there have blue eyes, blond
hair and brown skin. (Don't know if this is still true?).

Podcasting is a world wide phenomena - and you are part of it. Help us
share such a vision (which should not be complicated, as I imagine,
most of us have this kind of goal - we would like to share thoughts
and engage in conversations) and get more people into podcasting.

Here is our two initial suggestions / requests:
- National Holiday (or perhaps you have local holidays too?)
- What to know when I visit XXX

Goal of it (whether it runs on sushiradio or not) is to have short
tidbits for listeners to enjoy and help them get the podcast bug. And
learn stuff through it. Broaden their mind. Perhaps even get to know a
bit of the local language?

Of course, we want to publish this on sushiradio, but perhaps you
don't want that - but still are interested in the topic. In this case,
please contribute the following way:

- make your podcast
- describe what you have done
- send a link to that sushiradiomail@... or contact Thomas or me
directly

We will then visit, listen to it and link the blog entry from our
site. Restrictions? I would expect this to be 10 min max and it should
be a positive message, not a political one. Podcasting is supposed to
be fun.
(And yes, I can dislike you and still link to you *g* in case you
doubt, take Thomas or Gerrit as contacts.)

Commercial advertisement in it would be okay, if it is made clear and
smart. I don't mind if you get a free lunch somewhere because you tell
us about this great diner. But be aware of the fact, that this will
have a backslash if you cheat the community.

Content:
We will have a website up and running for you to check whether or not
a topic is already 'booked'. We then encourage you to check in with
that person and work together or make an enriched version of that.
There is not much sense in doing 100 podcast about national holiday of
Amercia.

So this time it is of benefit for you if you are from a another
country. ;o)

If you have other ideas which could be run on sushiradio.com,
feel free to contact too. Besides, I am sure that a klingon holiday
exists.

We would need the podast mp3 (link preferred) and a short description
of the content and a title for it, your name and your website /
podcast site. The link will also go into the ID3 tags. Email addresses
will not be included, to avoid spam.

We would also love to receive a short notice about your podcast (Short
as in 10-20 words). Again: This is about content, not advertisement. :)

Building the file:
We have a special intro for each channel which we would provide for
you. Typical, this goes like

Intro music
You: Welcome to sushiradio.com around the world, today with NAME from
PODCASTNAME. I would like to tell you about ...
CONTENT
Outro you: Hope you had fun yada yada .. If you would like to hear
more about TOPIC OF YOUR PODCAST, visit me at PODCAST WEBSITE
Outro music

With this arrangement, you are also able to to reuse this bit on your
own podcast website, which we encourage you to do.

[We'd suggest you recontact before building intro outro around it. :)]

Legal stuff:
As distributiing through our websites makes us in a way liable, I
expect to be able to somehow use common sense and wikipedia to verify
stuff you tell us. Make happy, positive stuff, and there will be not
so much of a need for that. :o)

License stuff, the part providing it to sushiradio:
We would need you to provide the file under a creative
commons license: by Attribution, no Derivative Works, commercial usage

They will be provided on sushiradio under the following licence:
- Attribution
- No Derivative Works
- Noncommercial

The goal is to spread the word but as we are for example exploring
distribution throughout webradios, we need a broader licences and
we need a common licence for that.
