Hi everyone,

I know that a lot of you have an interest in mainframe software, not just DB2. If you are interested in a free technical seminar covering the new releases of CICS TS 3.1 and/or WebSphere MQ then please read on. If not then go ahead and file this with the emails offering cheap mortgages and Viagra.

Thanks,
Steve

CICS Transaction Server V3.1

CICS----the most successful software product in the information systems industry----is new, improved and enhanced.

Come and hear the very latest news!  CICS Transaction Server for z/OS Version 3 delivers major enhancements in the area of on-demand access to CICS applications, application transformation and enterprise management.  Support for Web Services, new HTTP functionality including outbound support, more OTE exploitation, improved inter-program data transfer, CPSM WUI usability and security enhancements are just a few of the significant new functions in this version.

 WebSphere MQ V6

WebSphere MQ, the de-facto industry standard for reliable, cross-platform messaging that underlies IBM’s Business Integration Broker and Workflow products, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.  In June, version 6 becomes available on z/OS, Windows, iSeries, and a range of UNIX variants including AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, and Linux, with support for more platform types to follow later in the year.

Come to this session to hear about all the new functions and enhanced features, including:  cross-platform administration using the new Eclipse-based GUI tools on Windows and Linux; monitoring enhancements and statistics gathering; IPV6 support and SSL enhancements; data compression for increased channel capacity; integrated JMS, Publish/Subscribe, and FTP support…

Bios

We are proud to inform you that Steve Zemblowski will be conducting the CICS session. Steve is from IBM’s Advanced Technical Support organization and provides technical support for CICS Transaction Server and the CICS Tools.  Recently Steve has supported the early introduction of CICS TS V3.1 by developing and delivering worldwide education to beta customers and business partners.

Tony Skinner will present the MQ session. Tony provided technical marketing and early installation support for MQSeries across Canada in the 90s, when he worked for IBM.  He has worked with many IBM customers on system design and implementations involving MQ and related products.  Most recently he has been helping clients implement high availability MQ solutions, and plan for migration to V6 from earlier versions of WebSphere MQ.
