Hmmm,

In doing a little digging I came across the <link> tag. Perhaps this
might be an interesting way to get information about a feed into a
web page?

The link tag is supposed to support tags for movement relative to the
current page. At least that's one of it's purposes. I've included
some links about it.

If we're going to advance the connection between what current browser
support and feeds, we should probably look into what their current
environments best support.

If folks are going to put an [XML] button on their page, how about
embedding some meta-data in that? How about an HREF for the main
feed? And if someone's going to use it on an individual item then
how about an HREF that points to it's XML source?

Getting folks to agree to adding something MORE to their web pages
isn't a trivial endeavor. We might as well have something well
thought out.
