That works for me too, but I end up having to change the file extension back to .msi because Firefox keeps adding .txt to the end of it. I haven't figured out yet how to get Firefox to stop thinking an msi is a text file.

Not having much joy downloading or installing Beta V 1.17

Firefox 3.5 just shows code when the download link is clicked.
Explorer8 downloads the file.
However, the install process goes through motions the files don't install. And I
do uninstall the previous version before loading a new beta - just in case you
were going to ask ;)

Hi,

I am curious if anyone knows how to write the location of a wav to a text file,
and have a wav player open the wav from the location.

Also, it'd be great to know if this could be accomplished with multiple location
entries (an array).

Any Help appreciated.

I've thought about this for a long time, not sure why I never got 'round
to mentioning it:

Couldn't you write a single module that can handle conversions from any
data type to any other? Couldn't the module just use the container
method of 'spare' pins to received a connection from, and connect to,
any datatypes? So there'd be no need to have this massive matrix of
internal and 3rd party conversion modules.

Hi Robert,
Thanks for trying SynthEdit.

Cheers, I'm currently updating the Help file to include all the modules.
That update should be done in the next few days.

> have you got any good links for me? :)

It can be frustrating. SynthEdit's help doesn't go so into specifics enough
to build serious devices.

Wikepedia is helpful..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flanging

Effects explained is cool

http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyle/Features/effects-explained-modulation/

Harmony central too

Hope that helps,

Subject: intro to synthedit?

hello,

i recently purchased synthedit and got hold of the wizoobook, which offers
quite a fair but rather shallow introduction to synthedit programming.

here comes the whining:
unfortunately the current version of synthedit seems to be quite a bit ahead
of the book, as some of the components don't look or behave as the book
describes them. Level Adj, for example, and some others as well. and most of
the components i'm interested in aren't even mentioned in the help file...
so i tried to find some tutorials and introductions on the web, but that
search turned out to be rather pointless... the synthedit-wiki - shut down,
the yahoo user groups - a mass-grave for questions rather than a source for
answers...
try finding a how-to on compression... i tried. useless. a handful of
threads, all "showing" or linking to pictures and sites that are not
available any more. and probably haven't been for quite a while, for that
matter.
even tried tracing the linked material on archive.org, but once again -
nothing useful.

so finally, here's the actual question:
have you got any good links for me? :)

any tutorial sites that are any good, any how-to files on subjects like
signal dynamics, any up-to-date schematics to help me "dive in"?

i'd be really grateful, that'd justify the just-under-fifty bucks i just
spent...

regards and greetings from frosty munich,
rob

You're welcome.

In C++ you would use Pow() to calculate this.  So, in your example, you would use :

#include <math.h>

float seconds = pow(2,(6-6.666666));

Try changing your Midi preference to the 'wrong' setting..then back. That

I've redone the help file automation page. It now mentions the basics of

I will install the beta again when I get time (need to get something

MIDI In/Out, a Patch Automater and a button with sysex automation.

Also any ideas on the 'midi interfaces aren't setup' message when

working on a synth on my WinXP. I saved as vst and it's fine in VSTHost and
fine in Reaper, but in my old copy of Orion Platinum, a quarter of the right
side of the gui is just gone. I thought it might be sizing, so I resized it &
reinstalled - same. Thought maybe it was tiled background, so I set it on false
- same. I have a waveshaper on the filter & to hide it, I've put it way to the
right of where the gui actually ends. I've done this before in previous copies
of SE. Could this be the problem? Has anyone had this problem with any
exported vsts? Thanks for any help.

Is there a way to create a LED Stack, but instead of text label I want to use

I mean it should work like the "original LED stack". I want just one button to
choose between 4 waveforms of my oscillator, but instead of the texts, I want
symbols for sine/triangle/...!?!

I hope you understand what I am looking for!

calculator(I have a Casio fx-83ES scientific).

I haven't been able to find out what ^(in the formula Time = 2 ^ (Volts -

Is it possible to use this module to control a the pitch of an oscillator in a
way that allows for each number increase to correspond a raise in a semi-tone? I
can't get my head around it since I believe it is in essence an eleaborate set
of wet and dry controls.

What I would like to do is to have one row for pitch, and another for velocity.
Now I guess this would require some form of scaling? I'm just not confident
enough, or knowledgeable enough to know how this would be done.

Does anyone have any examples of this? Or does anyone know how this could be
achieved?

Thanks so much for any help with this :)

I currently have an Image2 going into a Float3 which outputs a value. If I use a
standard slider module I understand that I can control the minimum and maximum
values in the automation. With what I'm doing now, I presume it is sending
values from 0 - 10 volts, but I am not sure firstly how I could alter the
maximum and minimum values, and then how I could modify them so that they only
use values which are part of traditional scales?

I hope that that makes some sort of sense?

Many thanks in advance for any help with the question!
