The Royal Mint[1] is to celebrate the 200th anniversay of Darwin's
birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin Of
Species with a special coin.

Am I the only one to think that putting his image face-to-face with
that of a monkey shows a lazy lack of originality? Darwin's ideas were
sparked by examining finches and giant tortoises, not monkeys. A finch
would have been far more appropriate if an animal had to be included.[2]
The general public might readily associate Darwin with apes but this is
surely the opportunity to correct that misconception not reinforce it?
