If you are developing Tamil Search engine, i believe, definitely you
should go for Unicode. I believe you know about unicode. you can search
tamil contents using unicode from any platform. Unicode(indix) is suported
by all latest platforms. I dont know about TAB font, but if you want
international users to use your search engine without any additional
downloads then go for unicode..
