Greetings monthly readers!

This last May newsletter focuses on small business owners. Many
business owners nowadays are starting to realize the importance of
having a website. Some of the older businesses are still holding
back. Maybe they think the Internet is still a fad. Maybe they just
think it's overwhelming. Hopefully I can help alleviate some of
those fears today.

While the Internet is definitely a huge part of everyday life, it's
not the big monster that is waiting to take away your business.
While you have most likely lost business because of the Internet,
perhaps you can gain some, too. Perhaps to your surprise, there are
MANY people today that use the Internet as their first resource for
spending money. The Yellow Pages have become a thing of the past,
replaced by Yahoo! and Google and many more. If your website is
listed in these places, you will attract sales.

Do you consider spending a few hundred dollars on a website a
valuable investment? Last year alone, there were over 100 BILLION
DOLLARS of sales made on the Internet. This does not include sales
that were the result of a Internet lookup that resulted in local
revenue.

My advice to small business owners: Get a website. Even if it's a
one-page blurb about your company, what you offer, and your phone
number. Get an email address. Check it often. Offer free (yes,
free!) advice or a printable coupon. Encourage them to come see you.
