The Dieringer Research Group (DRG) (http://www.thedrg.com) surveyed
3,000 US adults in June to ascertain their online shopping habits
and found that the majority of American adults now use the Internet
for shopping.
Many more use the Internet for product research prior to purchasing
products in traditional stores.
The Web is now an essential tool for offline businesses. It's
getting harder and harder to argue that not every business needs a

Just how much does a Website costs Nowadays?
While that's an easy and perfectly valid question to ask, the answer
is not so easy! To answer this question effectively, we would have
to know your goals, purposes, and design ideas for your business'
site. Since we cannot do that without an initial consultation
meeting, we've decided to give you a few examples of our current
clients and their approximate budget for the project.
Client One
Client One already had a website. Problem was, they weren't getting
much out of it. They wanted to put some products online. To
further complicate the process, their `web guy' moved and was no
longer available. So Client One had a website that they could not
maintain nor update.
Client One called Lighthouse Technologies and set up an
appointment. When we met, they explained their problem and we
helped. Within 6 hours, their site was updated with fresh graphics
and new content. We did 99% of the work in Client One's office the
same day.
Cost: ~ $240
Client Two
Client Two started a business and needed a simple way for customers
to find and contact him. He purchased his domain name and a small,
custom-built website from Lighthouse Technologies. Within two weeks
Client Two's website was online.
Total cost:~ $360
Within several months, Client Two had such success with his website
that he called us for more pages, including a custom script used to
share documents and provide status to his vendors.
Total cost: ~ $710
Client Two's future plans include broadcasting live video over the
Internet and customer payment processing.
Client Three
Client Three had an existing business. He wanted more exposure for
his growing venture, and the Internet was the answer. Starting with
just a home page and a contact page, soon he added two pages of
services and a feedback form.

Shortly after that the business went nationwide. That meant Client
Three needed updates to the site, including a custom map and pricing
scheme. Lighthouse Technologies was able to provide a very cost-

Client Three also landed a large contract with a local government
agency. They were overwhelmed and needed help from other like-
merchants. They called Lighthouse Technologies for ideas.
We came up with a custom written set of pages, complete with secure
login and database backbone. The customer could now post `jobs' to
their site, and other nationwide (and local) vendors could log in
and provide services. Client Three was provided a very easy web-
interface to update and change/delete jobs as needed.
Cost: ~ $400
Client Three requests frequent updates to his site. With our
monthly maintenance package, Client Three gets just the updates he
needs without any hassle. Best of all, it's all pre-paid so there
is no monthly billing headache!
Total Cost: ~ $1400
