Sam,
I may be able to help you. I used to work in an UPS Call Center. Call the
shipper of the telescope and see if you can get the tracking number for the
missing package. It's not unusual for separate packages to get separated.
Once you get the tracking number, see if it went to Chicago, that's one of
their major shipping hub points. We used to call it the Black Hole, for
obvious reasons. If Chicago was the last place, call UPS to see how long
you have to wait, sorry, I can't remember the waiting time, if there is a
waiting time, before you can report a lost package. Hopefully, whoever you
bought it from will ship you the base at no extra charge and hopefully he
had it insured. IMO if he had it insured, a small extra charge on his end,
he wouldn't charge for the next shipment, if needed.
