My son, who is a linguist (very proud of him so I HAD to add that)( smile) had  lasik surgery last month. Initially he had no pain and thought he could go to work the next day. Although the surgery has been a great success, he was plagued by pain for several days and they gave him some mild narcotics to help. But in less than a week he was doing fine. He too saw a difference immediately and very satisfied.

For those of you out there already grumbling, the Army is onlyallowing this procedure  to be given to active duty soldiers. The general message seems to be, better to do this than be on a battle field and lose your glasses.
