Hello Howard,
It sounds like the problems you're having are due to a corrupted download of
the installer. I would recommend you re-download the installer from our
website here: http://planetside.co.uk/terragen/win/downloadwin.shtml

We do provide priority support for registered users and I'm not aware of any
support requests from you in the past. If you continue to have problems I
would recommend you contact our support department directly at support AT
planetside.co.uk

I'm new to Terragen, and using v 0.9.43 under Windows.
(Actually under Wine, but the Windows executable.) I'm also new to
rendering, and to a lesser extent graphics in general.
I'm experimenting, and trying to build (what I consider) a
fairly simple scene: mountain wilderness, covered by fresh snow.
So far I have something I like ... during daylight.
However, if I try to create the same scene at night - I can't
do it. I seen the following tutorials:

	 http://archive.bigben.id.au/terragen/moonlight.html
	 http://terragen.bravehost.com/tutnight.htm

which aren't useless, but don't come close to what I want.
Are there any other tutorials? Failing that, is there someone
willing to advise me?

	 Respectfully,

Hi Robert,

I haven't used this version for some years, but you might try to examine
my file (second on the left) at http://helensimages.com/tg8_2.htm .

I hope it helps.

	 OK, that's somewhat useful.

Hello, Ive been using Terragen for some time now, and was wondering if
anyone had tried 2 yet.

i have and its nice but i would rather use WorldMachine and then drop
back to Terragen. World Machine 2 i dont like but is nice.

Honestly i feel the new features should be added to the First World
Machine and then refine something and come up with new features and
then Make World Machine 2.

This then would really complement Terragen and its add-ons and by then
Terrgen 2 and World Machine 2 would be a powerful terrain maker
assortment.

Some kind of Item arrangement library for Trees and such should be
someone sometime too, that would be awesome.

Otherwise, im just saying how much like and the program and see how
anyone else feels.

Thx!

Greetings,

I have been sporadic with both versions of
Terragen lately, but I try to keep a hand in it when I can. My last
render can be seen here:

http://trudigitalight.deviantart.com/art/Kieranna-104791110

I
like the improvements they have been making to TG2 and it seems to
render faster now as well. Hope to get to some more renders in 09. Good
wishes for the new year

David

Someone in this group has made the mistake of joining Grouply.
As result, Grouply is spamming all the members of this group.

Joining Grouply is not a good idea. Grouply requires your Yahoo username and
password, and thus gets full access to your settings, mailboxes etc. (And giving
out your password is always a very bad idea.)

For more information, see:

If you have joined Grouply, it is highly recommended that you unsubscribe from
it. See:

Those who are concerned about Grouply should read Grouply's OWN statement as
well: http://blog.grouply.com/protect/

As far as 'handing over' your username and password goes, Grouply state that
Yahoo have confirmed that this is not a violation of their TOS and, in fact,
there are a number of sites which securely and legitimately request your
username and password for various online mail systems in order to populate your
contacts list.

Group Owners can easily prevent Invitation messages from reaching the Group by
following the procedure here: http://blog.grouply.com/protect/#prevent_invites

Finally, I should say that I am not a member of Grouply nor do I have an axe to
grind. I simply chose to do a little research after reading this post.

Thank you for the warning. Actually I was unaware that there was such a thing as
Grouply, and how insidious it is.
If I ever see it, I will be sure to completely ignore it, just as I would any
other spamming crud.
I have seen other phishing stuff, like the ones that say, "Dear so and so, 48
people have been trying to look you up, would you like to see who they are?"
And many other come-ons. I just delete and ignore them all.

I did not see where Paul said it went against Yahoo TOS. Just that it
wasn't a good idea. And as for Grouply saying that it's OK with Yahoo,
I'd rather check with Yahoo than take Grouply's word on it.

Hello to all,

I am looking for anyone that has or knows of a place to get tutorials on
Terragen 2. Especially the detail stuff; such as using populations, using 3d
files like a model of a tree, camera angles, details on how to use shaders, and
so on.

I myself have come across several tutorial locations online but many are
incomplete or not available anymore.

I will be writing some tutorials myself on Terragen 2....for the things I have
learned myself just experimenting with the program. I will post links once they
are available.

I took a very basic TG2 course on LVS. If you find any good tutorials that go
into more detail, please pass on the information to the rest of us.

PS - I wonder if there were enough people interested, if LVS would offer a more
advanced course.

I took this class a year or 2 ago also, it was excellent.
The instructor is very communicative and extremely helpful.
I do believe that she has upgraded the class, made some changes to keep up with
the changes in Terragen.
I really want to take the class again if I can ever find the time, I'm taking 2
others at LVS at the moment.

Apologies, people, that probably was me. I got an invite from someone I knew in
another group, so I responded. After a while I just started letting the stuff
from it go into my spam folder. As I don't come here very often, I did not
realize what was happening.

I have canceled my subscription to Grouply. Hopefully it actually works, unlike
some places that indulge in spam where the unsubscribe does nothing.

Again, I apologize to all and I hope there will be no more problems with
Grouply.

I'm looking to partner up with one or more Landscape artists from here. I have
a small group of primarily 2D character artists and I'm a Maya/modo/ZBrush
character artist and filmmaker. I'm do the writing and most of the character
modeling on this. We have one seasoned Vue landscape artist, but I'm seriously
hoping to to bring a couple of other people on board to add some new ideas and
lighten the load of the work. Trying to mesh Vue and Terragen renders along
with the other 3D assets could be a little problematic, but still doable. Does
anyone know if Terregen can output HDRI spherical image renders for better
render matching?

For more info on the project please shoot me a message at
osiris397atgmaildotcom.
