Re: [texasgrapes] Sangiovese in Wise County?

Not sure., and of course PD is an issue will ask at the next meeting. My
library experiment is telling me most grapes like my soil. I got cutting from
NY, put them in pots and along the fence line., over 70 have set. Even the
Walmart Concords my grand daughter gave me are producing this year! I not
heard
of folks having problems with BdB. But will ask around. We have a wine guild
meeting this Saturday, near Mc Kenny in Collin county. The Aug will be at my
place in Decatur. Not sure where Italy Texas is? Your welcome to come to our
meetings.

Jim,

Have you or any one else had sucess with Sangiovese here in
North/Central Texas? I like the idea of Sangiovese but have been
afraid of PD, I have about 50 plants of Chamboursin, about 3 yrs, and
its showing signs of PD, I also planted 25 Blanc du Bois (BdB), I
tried to keep them organic but the fungus last year was just to
intense and I got no production last year and very little this year, I
have given up on the organic sprays and think if I keep up with the
chemical fungal spray program, the BdB should do good next year.
