Tom,
It's great to learn of you, and
the-commons@yahoogroups.com, and
http://www.ecoplan.org
I just looked very quickly at your Dematerialism website
http://web.wt.net/~twayburn/ but your main premise is very thoughtful:
It is unreasonable to be happy when others are miserable. And also the
corollary: The abandonment of competition for wealth, power, and fame by
all of society is a necessary and sufficient condition for a reasonable
person to be happy.
I and David Ellison-Bey wrote a paper "An Economy for Giving Everything
Away" where we work out an economy based on "giving everything away".

We haven't thought about Why? so it's fantastic to read your thoughts.
Our lab Minciu Sodas
http://www.ms.lt is working on putting this into
practice as a business. I invite you to join our working group
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cyfranogi/ for "participatory society,
open economy, community currency, etc."
I'm also happy that you've dedicated your website to the Public Domain.
I invite you to join our Open People network.
http://www.openpeople.info I have to work out better how to efficiently
register participants, but please let us know if you're interested.

You're welcome based on the output at your website. I've also set up
some pages where we can start drawing on your work in the Public Domain
and integrating that:

I hope we might work together!
