Resource Wars: The New Landscape of Global Conflict http://www.commondreams.org/views04/0113-01.htm
The Energy Intensity is in Acceleration Mode:
From population and technology expansion and explosion - with sci & tech severely skewed in unsustainable narrow-mindedness
to resource depletion, global warming, ecological imbalance, earth's decreasing magnetic field
to the economic stranglehold by the few in cloud nine, upon, and gripping the multitude
Will the Energy Breakthrough come in time?
Factors clouding the predictability issue - the hundred monkey syndrome,
and no reliable historic data (except from legends) on exponential variables.
As acceleration criteria (population base, knowledge base, tech base, human impact, etc.) enter exponential growth or geometric increase mode, causes and effects become blurred.
One survival criteria stands out above all the rest. Energy Evolution/Revolution. It now stands in the Red danger level of stagnation. Half Way Houses, (feeble renewable energy attempts) are failing miserably to meet current worldwide survival demand, much less potential future capacity needs.
Though we possess a good core group here to date at the Energy Center, we, like similar attempts, are losing ground once more to sitcoms, football, commercials, party and shopping trivia escape of the overworked worker. The concept of the Radius of Curvature of all Natural Law, required for Energy Breakthroughs, remains in limbo, a threat to Power, Domination, and Control.

Mass Media Appeal: The Soviet Union, for purposes of behavior control...............NOPE............the U.S.A.
- ABC News 1/13/04 MASS APPEAL "Can't resist buying a new car you can't afford? Why do you choose to buy one brand over another? Advertisers are going to new lengths to tap into your brain and get you to spend. But does one "mind probe" go too far? .............So he started putting people in MIR machines, showing them pictures of products and asking them to think about how they are used. From the MIR he gained images of how the brain was processing those thoughts, which he believes sheds light on how people form preferences. The work, which is being done with funding from Bright House Neurostrategies, a branch of an Atlanta-based market research firm, has raised concerns on two levels: what the goal of the research is and whether an institution that carries out such experiments on humans should receive federal funding. "It sounds like something that could have happened in the former Soviet Union, for purposes of behavior control," Gary Ruskin, the executive director of Commercial Alert, a group that opposes commercialization of American society, wrote in a letter to the U.S. Office for Human Research Protections asking for an investigation of whether the experiments at Emory violate federal standards for research on humans)
