Susan:
Welcome to the Group!
By default, iTunes will recognize a CD as soon as your drive loads it and will ask you if you would like to add it to your library. Answer "Yes" and iTunes will immediately "rip" the tracks from the CD, convert them to AAC (the file format your iPod uses) and sort them into your music directory. Then, when you next sync your iPod, the new tracks should be transferred to it.
It's actually pretty scary, how simple and easy the whole thing is!

An acquaintance of Mine recommended this site group, so I thought I
would ask a question about My new IPOD. Its an Ipod classic or apple
classic with 120 gb I think. I can't remember.
Anyway, the question is, how does one get the music from a cd onto the
ipod? Do I have to put My cd into the computer and download or upload
the info onto itunes and then sync it to the IPOD?
I just got the ipod, it is My first one. I have managed to purchase a
few songs and get them onto the ipod, now I want to get put the music I
already own.
Thanks for your time,
