I had a similar issue several times with a very large syntax
highlighting file. This CREditHgl.ini file get's corrupted somehow
when I enable "save Settings on Exit". This caused a crash.

Restoring the CREditHgl.ini file from a backup turned Credit working
again.
Actually I disabled the option "save Settings on Exit" and did not get
a corrupted CREditHgl.ini since then (it's working over 6 months with
heavy usage every day). Previously the CREditHgl.ini gets corrupted
every few weeks.
