Jeremy,
What would you like to do ? I see two GIMP-functions that deal with
ASCII. The AA-plugin that converts an image into ASCII-Art. And the
ASCII-plugin that reads in ASCII and makes an image out of it.
Also see http://registry.gimp.org for more details and more plugins.

Martijn

Hey, count me in...
I guess 'once caught by The GIMP' means 'always caught by GIMP'.
Recently I tried the new GTK2-version of The GIMP on Windows and fell
in love again. This is real eye-candy !
It has so much options and the best price-tag one can get: for free.

Hi.
I got GIMP two days ago and I'm already madly in love with it. I
think the font viewing thingie alone was worth the download. My fonts
never looked better....Now can someone tell me how to access my image
files? I went to "File" and then to "Open" and then clicked on "My
Documents, but the program didn't open the "My Documents" file."
(which has all the sub folders with my pictures in it) Am I going to
have to associate all my files with GIMP before I can access them
with this program? Or what? Please help? (Thanks in advance for any
information you can give me on this matter)
Diana G
P.S. Also, how do I access my PhotoShop filter files?
Because I am mostly working with Windows I am very glad that The GIMP
has been ported to Windows. The first version were somewhat less
stable, but the latest are very good versions. I mainly use them with
Windows 2000 and XP, but at work I also use them with Windows98. That
also works fine.
Just download the latest version from Jernej's page at
http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/
Please read the instructions on that webpage.
Do you already have some GIMP-experience ? Or are you just wondering
what you can do with The GIMP and what's the quality of the Windows-
version ?

Did you change the picture size before you put it
on the Web? A curve would look great on 1024x768 but
if you then resized it to 320x240 to make it fit on
a web page then the pixels start showing up and
make jagged edges.
I made some gifs with transparent backgrounds and
curved edges...they looked great on my computer, but
when I transferred them to the web they looked
alfull...they had jagged edges on all the curved sides. How do
I change this?
It is in the photo section in gallery "for
fun".<br>I made it large so you might want to reduce
it.<br>It is the first image I made using nothing but
the<br>GIMP.<br>Any feedback is welcome.<br><br>gajewall
Right-click on the image.<br>On the menu which pops up, select "Image

using?
I need to resiza a picture...not just zoom, but
actually make it bigger. I have tried using
crop/resize...what it does is keep the picture the same size, but
recrop the canvas. I need the whole thing bigger.
Help...what am I doing wrong?
I finally( if anyone reads this ) found technical files ( not abvious ) which
are related to gimp program, had everything gimp deleted then & was able to
d-load the latest version.
people still reading this club?<br> if so: I had
an old gimp version ( 1.1.28 or something ) that I
had downloaded, worked okay ( I have windows ME
)--<br>but then I made the mistake of trying to download
lastest version, it didn't set up right, tried deleting
everything gimp off my computer & downloading again, same
problem, thought I'd just go back & download the OLD
version of gimp, got the same set-up problem on my
desktop. It worked before!<br>error said:gtk-1.3.dll is

I need help getting my epson 870 to print from
mandrake. I have CUPS running and I can print from other

I opened a giff in the gimp and put text on a new
