Hello,

Next week I head off to India to promote my book "The Sorcerer's Song
and the Cat's Meow" and to get some more beautiful photos of this exotic
land. I look forward to sharing those with you in the future.
I bought a new Tamarak backpack to haul my 20d and associated equipment
around. I found that my upper back was getting sore using my labtop
backpack so I bought a camera specific backpack that will also fit my
laptop. It really is a beautiful piece of luggage.
Have a great day!
Arthur

I've finally finished going through my shots of Florence. Actually all
of these shots were taken on an excursion to the Tuscany region
surrounding Florence. We took a side trip to a castle in Chiani
country.

Here is a time lapse of Rangoli design done by my sweet niece on
Diwali day at there home. It took total 2 hours to create the rangoli
and total 900 pics were taken with a interval of 10seconds between
each pic. Photos taken using canon A430 digicam placed on tripod. The
movie was created using windows movie maker software, and the
background music is a nursury rhyme of Bumblebee.

On our last day in Venice they had the Gondola regatta. The first few
boats were display vessels and very decrotive. The last boats were
racers. It was a great way to end the trip.

It's been a busy week in genesis space.
I've added fourteen new shots of my 4 day trip to Venice. These shots
all come from the island of Burano which was a nice side trip we took.

I've been playing with cold casting in bronze one of my sculptures
entitled "Someone's Grandpa". Cold casting is a technique that allows
me to cast a sculpture without the use of a furnace. You can check that

Hello folks,
As a new member to the group I thought I'd take a
minute to introduce myself.
I'm a photographer living in Central Oregon, where I
specialize in editorial, stock and documentary
photography. My first camera was an old Kodak Brownie
(yes, I'm in the "older photographer" catagory), and
have been shooting ever since.
I have both Canon and Nikon equipment, although as a
recent convert to digital, I only have the Nikon D200
as my current digital camera. (May buy a Canon 5D soon
though as I like some things better about it.) Since
I've only been in the "digital world" for about 1
year, I'm still trying to get comfortable with
Photoshop, etc. :)
I'm looking forward to meeting others on the list to
exchange ideas, suggestions, etc.
Thanks,
Marcy Ugstad

Hi There,
If you saw my last post you'll remember that during our trip to Venice
my wife and I took a side trip to the Island of Murano which is the hand
made glass making capitol of the world. We were given a tour and
demonstration by an "apprentice" who made a vase and a glass stallion
for us. After the demonstration we were invited into the glass shop
upstairs. In here were many artistic wonders that were just mind
boggling. If you want to see what true masters of glass making can do

Hi there,
I've updated the photography gallery with 11 shots of the blue mountains
in Australia. Depending on where you're coming from they're about 3-2
hours outside of Sydney. We took the sky tram while we were there and
the world's steepest trolley. You can check them out here. Next stop
will be the Jenolan caves!

G'day Genspacers,
I've been in Sydney for the past month and had the opportunity to
capture a lot of down under on my camera. I've managed to update my

fraction of the photo's I took! Please stop by and check out my work
and get a taste of Oz.
I'm off to Italy later today so you won't hear from me for another 2
weeks, but I will have another boatload... actually airplane load of
photos to share with you!

I am a publisher of wildlife photography and would like to receive
submissions from members. Please remember that pet dogs and cats are
not WILD life. Zoo shots are generally unwelcome but, in cases of
extremely rare or geographically remote species, there may be no
alternative. Even then, however, the zoo that owns the animal must not
have prohibited publication of photos of it. (Zoos are VERY good at
recognizing their own animals!)
Please do not submit original photo files and be sure to write your
email address on the face of the photo in a place that does not block
out the animal. Use a convenient editor (e.g., MS Paint) to reduce the
photo to about 640x480 pixels, type your email address on its face,
save it as JPG and embed it within (not attach it to) an email to the
above address.
If I am interested in publishing your photo, I will inform you of the
royalty rates and, if we find a meeting of minds, then will be time
enough to send me the original file.
With best regards,
Al Olmstead

Hello this is Erica with the Enlightenment-psych.net
<http://www.enlightenment-psych.net/ericasprofile.htm> and I am
grateful for locating a public online photo club that respects great
photography and the photographers behind them. I have been enjoying the
develpment of pictures using the traditional darkroom method and now the
digital since early adolescence and find both rewarding, only one less
messy !
I also have been combining my artistic expertise with some of the fine
photography my fiance & I have shot over the last year and have
researched and become familiar with the field of photojournalism. I use
drawings, sketches & pictures to write stories, photographs to enhance
the credibility of an article of interest and video to represent
realism, authenticity and depth.
One of my favorite nature shots is featured on the net here.
<http://fotolia.com/id/3342258> It was used in combination with a
textual post for the purpose of encouraging conservation, for a
"Catch'n'Release" submission that shows what length should be determined
by fisherpeople, to throw back . . . only after taking its picture ! lol
Should anyone be interested in my galleries using PSP and MSN Paint, I
will post them if asked, otherwise I won't just throw these links out
there.
sharing the light,
[:)]
