Well, I apologize for letting our group lapse but it is back now. I
will be hosting a web chat every Monday at 5 PM ET. This will begin
in mid-June. I am looking forward to chatting with you about space
related issues. I will post a reminder in the calendar so I am
reminded to get off my butt and do it. :)
Regards,
Mike

Sunday February 1, 2004 All Day
This event repeats every year.
The next reminder for this event will be sent in 23 hours, 58 minutes.
Event Location: On Line
Notes:
Take time out of your day to remember the crew of STS-107. Please keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
The Space Shuttle Columbia ends its 28th mission in a terrible
explosion over the skies of Texas. STS-107 was approaching a
scheduled landing at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, when it
exploded. Seven astronauts have been on board. If anyone wants to
comment, please do so. May God watch over the crew, their families
and friends, and both the US and Israel.
On behalf of everyone here, I want to wish all of
you a very merry Christmas, a happy 2002, and the
most blessed of days, especially after what happened
on 11 SEP 01. Thank you for being part of our web
site and club. May God bless all of you abundantly.
See you in 2002!!!

Warmest

Thank you for the new site info and for joining
the club!!! I hope you continue to participate in the
club and look forward to more messages from you.
Thanks again for joining and happy
holidays!!!

Regards,
hrhsmith1
hey everyone i'm a new member of the club and
wanted to share a cool site i recently found
(www.spacetile.com). they sell the tile that is used on the shuttle
for re-entry. check it out!! look forward to hearing
from all of you.
I hope that all of you have been able to see the
greatest meteor shower in recent times. The Leonid meteor
shower was at its best on the morning of 18 NOV 2001.
There were at least 100 shooting stars that I could see
in a 1 hour time. It was a magnificent
show!!!

I want to wish all of you a very happy
Thanksgiving!!! May God bless all of
you!!!

Regards,
hrhsmith1
Over the past week or so, the Aurora Borealis was
seen in places as far south as Tennessee and Alabama.
People here in Colorado thought that there was a fire up
in the mountain. The sheriff's department has asked
people to stop calling since it is only nature. Question
for the week: Have you seen the Aurora Borealis
recently??
Get on line and report!!! Till next
week,

Regards,
hrhsmith1
Last week, the space shuttle Endeavour was rolled
out to Pad 39-A. What was surprising about this roll
out was that 1) it was not announced in advance and
2) the Endeavour was continually guarded by USAF
F-16s. This is of course due to what happened on 11 SEP
01.

Regards,
hrhsmith1
The Mars Explorer is now in orbit around the red planet and is sending data to
scientists. What do you think the Mars Explorer will discover??? Log on to give
your point of view. Have a great week.
We are currently in the middle of World Space
Week. If you are a student, you can enroll in a contest
to design a web site and maybe win a telescope. Go
to the links section of the club web site to get
more information. Thanks for reading and as Jack
Horkheimer says, "Keep looking up!!!" : )

Best

On 13 OCT 2001 we here at The Space Club
Universal will be celebrating our 2nd birthday. Although
this site hasn't been as active as I would have wanted
(my bad, mostly), I will do my best to update the
club site every week. This will be done on Mondays. If
there is anything in particular you need info on or
would like to see on this site, just let me know.
Please keep all communications clean and I will do my
best. Thank all of you for joining and I look forward
to talking to you next week.

Best

This weekend marks the 24th anniversary of the
passing of Apollo 1 crew and the 15th anniversary of the
space shuttle Challenger tragedy. Please keep them in
your thoughts and never forget them. The crew of
Apollo 1: Virgil I. (Gus) Grissom, Edward H. White III,
and Roger A. Chaffee. The crew of STS 51-L: Dick
Scobee, Mike Smith, Ron McNair, Ellison Onizuka, Judy
Resnik, Greg Jarvis, and Christa McAullife.

Stop
by the picture section for pictures of the crews and

you to all of you who joined the TSCU in the past
year. I appreciate all of your interest in this club
and would like you to actively participate in the
TSCU. Thanks again.
If you didn't receive an e-mail, I wish to
apologize for not keeping this site updated. No excuses. I
have updated the calendar on the site and would like
to remind all of the best viewing of Comet Linear
and the 31st anniversary of Apollo 11 landing on the
moon. Please check the site out and e-mail me if you
have any problems.
Regards,
hrhsmith1
I was really looking forward to seeing the eclipse, and then the clouds came.
The next day, it was all clear and all I got to see was a full moon. :-{ Oh
Well, that's weather for you.
If you haven't seen the news, there will be a
total lunar eclipse tonight, beginning at 10:01 PM EST.
Hopefully you will have cloudless skies and will enjoy this
event. I found a very good web site for eclipses, past,
present and future. I will add it to the web site
section. It is at
http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse/eclipse.html Happy viewing
and see you online!
I wish to thank you haleyarcher for being my
first new member in this club. I was beginning to think
that this was not such a good idea. Any suggestions
from you would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
again.
Regards,
hrhsmith1
