Hi all,

this will be the start of a series of pictures i will show from the
Drosera we found in Southafrica.

Drosera trinervia is most likely the most common sundew in southafrica.
It grows almost everywhere, where some water is present. I am not sure
if all the locations really drie out during summer. I suppose some of
them stay wet all year long. We only had one day out of 14 free of D.
trinervia (on that day we made a boattrip to the white sharks, so no
Drosera at all!). Even at a visit in a Lion Park we could find some of
them on the gras between the cages. Drosera trinervia is so common, that
i did not even bother to take pictures of them at the end of the trip,
so i can't show pictures from every location we have seen them.

Some of the pictures have been taken under harsh conditions (no
sunshine, rain, fog, wind and coldness), so they are not always the best
pictures. I hope you like them anyway.

regards,
Christian

Hi all,

inspired by a lecture about northern australia on the last AGM of the
GFP (german cp society) i am now looking for interesting forms of
Drosera indica. If anyone has something interesting - and can send
seeds to germany, please let me know.

regards,
Christian

Cool! If happen to have any extra D. brevifolia seed on hand in the future, I
sure would like to get some.

Could anybody here put me on the trail of a Drosera regia? I have
looked at every online nursey that I can think of and they all seem to

Hi.

I've got a few extra DROSERA GRAOMOGOLENSIS (Itacambira, Minas Gerais, Brazil)
plants available for immediate sale. This is considered by some to be one of
the most beautiful Drosera. I agree!

Here's what my bigger plants looked like a few years ago - they're much nicer
now!:

http://sundewgrower.com/pics/graomogolensis_11_02_a.jpg

The ones I'm selling are little guys that were being overgrown by sphagnum. So
they're a little wimpy looking, but will look great in little time given the
right conditions. I've found they're quite easy to grow in standard tropical
Drosera conditions.

This offer is to end users only, not to resellers. Trades considered. Please
email me at sundew@... immediately if you're interested. If you're
outside of the US, please be advised that I can't supply any permits or
paperwork for shipments.

Thanks,
Matt

PS If you requested plants in the past but I dropped the ball, I still have your
request and will get back to you when time allows - it's been an incredibly busy
year and I haven't had the time I needed for CP, unfortunately. Sorry!!

Drosera rotundifolia - a nice clone from Japan that germinates without
stratification, flowers in only a few months and so far hasn't shown any signs
of weakness or dormancy. Ivan Snyder and I both think this particular form is
well suited for terrarium growth, but I guess we will know for sure once we see
whether or not it goes dormant. :) Sorry about the sloppy looking plants, these
guys need to be transplanted / I need more room!

Hi everyone,

Matt suggested that I might want to ask about pygmy gemmae, so I just
thought I would put it out there. If anyone will have some available
in the fall, I would certainly be interested. Thanks! Sincerely,

Hi,

First of all: welcome to you Chuck.

I'am looking for informations about Drosera rubrifolia. I juste bought
this species and don't know yet where I should put it (in a terra, or
in my greenhouse?)
Is it an hard grower? Do you have tips about its cultivation?

Thanks a lot. Regards. Denis

I'm a new member -- I would like to introduce myself to the group. My
name is Chuck, 47, I live in Seattle, WA. I just started collecting a
few Droscera specimens, and, as many of you probably know, I couldn't
stop at one.

My main interest is in the pygmy varieties now since they look so
amazing. Hoping to learn from all the pros! Sincerely, Chuck

Hi friends.
I need to make room in one of my tanks so I'm offering the following small
plants for immediate sale/trade. These were all grown from seed and are beyond
what I need for my collection. Please email me directly ASAP if interested and
I'll forward you complete information. Quantities are small and I don't know if
or when I'll make these available again. I'm accepting payment through Paypal
this time.
Thanks,
Matt

The photos show plants of the same age and similar size to those I'm making
available.

All of these plants are easy to grow, and should do well in a terrarium,
greenhouse or on a sunny windowsill.

Some of you may remember I was looking for a good portable / affordable digital
camera for photographing small CP.

After returning a Nikon P4 (lousy camera for macros), I'm now getting a Canon
A620, which I should have in a few days. Thanks for Jan W for the
recommendation (he gets good macro shots from his A610). I THINK this is going
to be a really good camera for photographing my small Drosera and *SO* hope I'm
done camera shopping for a long, loooong time - I spent way too many hours
surfing the web trying to find pics the manufacturer's sites should have but
don't. One thing's for sure - there are too many digital cameras out there.

Anyway, here's info on the A620:

http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/A620/A620A.HTM

Here's a shot with adaptor and additional macro lens, a photo of the corner of a
$50 bill!

!!!!!!
!!!!!!

The lens is around $100 and adaptor around $50, I think, but the detail's
amazing for such a cheap setup.

Now I guess I need to build some kind of light box since the flash won't be good
at such close distances. And I need to learn how to take pics the right way!

I'm guessing I'll post some nice new pics once I've had time to learn the camera
a bit, probably in around 3 weeks?

Sorry for blabbing, but I'm excited.

Matt
