Started in September of 1996, the Tropical Hibiscus Mail List (THML) has grown to well over 800 members in its thirteen years of existence because of the knowledge, experience and charm of our members. This mail list was started to spread the story of the tropical hibiscus worldwide and to aid communication among the three hibiscus societies -- the American Hibiscus Society, the Australian Hibiscus Society and the Hibiscus Society of Queensland. Members have given their expert advice on growing tropical hibiscus under all sorts of conditions. We are the oldest and the largest hibiscus mail list. Having subscribers in dozens of countries has added an international flavor.


Mail lists have personalities based on who participates. Ours could be described as being very informative, friendly, but not too chatty. We try to stay on topic. Please don't be shy about participating -- you can learn more than by lurking. A mail list is only as good as its members make it!


In the spring of 2001, we moved to Yahoo! Groups.
