Level Three Support Engineer
Red Hat Inc. is looking for J2EE/JEE experts to join its top-level
JBoss Expertise Team. All specialties within the JBoss Enterprise
Middleware Suite are needed, including Messaging/JMS, Portal,
Clustering, Web Services, EJB2.1, EJB3, jBPM, Hibernate.

Our JBoss Expertise Team consists of J2EE/JEE architects who deliver
Developer-to-Developer Assistance as well as Production Technical
Support. This team is the connection point between Customers and R&D.
As such, you will be in contact with our customers' top developers and
architects. You will also assist our front line Support Engineers when
dealing with complex issues. Last but not least, your daily contacts
with our R&D team will allow you to work with some of the best
J2EE/JEE developers in the world.

You will also be expected to prepare sample code and write technical
tutorials. Therefore, excellent Java coding skills are required. In
addition to writing original code, the position requires the ability
to read and understand JBoss middleware code. You should also be able
to fix bugs and submit features to the JBoss code base if time and
interest allow.

A large majority of support is accomplished through a web portal,
although phone and IM are also utilized. These positions report to
the worldwide Director of JBoss Support, within Red Hat's Global
Support Services organization.

Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of professional work experience
- 3+ years Java/J2EE/JEE experience
- In-depth knowledge of the J2EE/JEE platform
- Significant and in-depth experience with JBoss Application
server or any other JEMS technology
- Proven ability and willingness to learn new open source
middleware technologies

Strong customer service skills
- Demonstrated efficient problem solving techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Preferred Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of Hibernate and Tomcat
- Ability to deal with change and limited structure
- Must be highly motivated, self-sufficient, perceptive,
ambitious, flexible and high energy

Location
Preferred locations are Raleigh, Atlanta and Mountain View. Other US
locations may be considered, including Canada.

- (Oracle, IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL
preferred)
- Strong knowledge of the J2EE/JEE platform

Strong customer service skills
- Demonstrated efficient problem solving techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Preferred Skills and Experience
- Developed medium to large applications using Hibernate
- Knowledge of JBoss Application Server or other JEMS products
and projects
- Knowledge of the EJB 3.0 standard
- Ability to deal with change and limited structure
- Must be highly motivated, self-sufficient, perceptive,
ambitious, flexible and high energy
