"Oracle database professionals increasingly face more responsibilities, and are constantly being asked to do a lot more with a lot less," explained Claudia Fernandez, director of product management for database solutions, Quest Software. "By including Toad for Data Analysis with Toad for Oracle, we provide an all-in-one solution that alleviates the need for additional tools."
Toad for Data Analysis 2.0 was designed specifically for analysts and data-focused professionals. It enables them to:
- Connect to any relational data source for querying and reporting
- Automate and schedule frequent tasks, such as running recurrent queries or distributing reports, easier than ever before
- Write custom queries, to execute a query against multiple connections simultaneously, and join data across all platforms
- Browse, view and edit database tables and objects and visualize relationships
- Build custom reports and export data to Microsoft Excel with one click
With the release of Toad for Oracle 9.7, Oracle database professionals have an efficient, complete package of tools to assist in daily development or administration tasks.
- Getting started video links show the “Top Things You Should Know” for developers and DBAs to reduce the learning curve
- AppDesigner (formerly Action Palette) allows users to automate workflows and tasks inside Toad, and use conditional logic
- Data Generator (Professional, Xpert, and Suites) helps users populate tables with multiple rows of data to ensure applications are tested properly
- Database Browser exposes common DBA tasks so users can easily navigate Toad menus (Toad DB Admin Module and DBA Suite)
- StatsPack and AWR advisories offer advice to help correct potential database performance and configuration issues (Toad DB Admin Module and DBA Suite)
- Performance testing allows developers to test their code for SLAs, and allows DBAs to replay database workload in a test environment (Toad Dev Suite and Toad DBA Suite)
- RMAN templates facilitate the creation of RMAN scripts (Toad DB Admin Module and DBA Suite)
Quest Software will also feature new versions of other database tools at Oracle OpenWorld (booth #2112), including: SQL Navigator® 6.0, Quest SQL Optimizer for Oracle 7.4, Benchmark Factory® for Databases 5.7 and Toad Data Modeler 3.2.5.

Toad for Data Analysis, Toad for MySQL, Toad for DB2 and Toad for SQL Server were all built from the ground up using a new technology (C# instead of Delphi) with the goal of being Unicode enabled. So the answer is yes. And since you get a free copy right now of Toad for Data Analysis with Toad - one could argue that Toad is too :)
