TOAD ERROR "Datatype is not supported".   Message List

RE: [toad] RE: TOAD ERROR "Datatype is not supported".

Hi Jeff,

These are the Oracle Client which I have on my machine;

For the first time when I connect to any DB (8i,10g) with my Oracle 10g client I get following ORA-12705 error.

So I first connect to another database using Oracle 8 client and then I connect to any DB with Oracle 10g Client.

I believe there is some setting issue which gives me ORA-12705 error when I log in any DB with my Oracle 10g Client.
Can this be an issue ?
By the way , in addition to my previous issue do you have any idea about this issue.

TAR,

Shiva.

Your assumption may not be correct…it runs fine in my 10gR2 server/client copy of 9.7.2 Toad.

I’m betting the problem lies with your Oracle client – what version of that are you  using?

Subject: [toad] TOAD ERROR "Datatype is not supported".

Hi All,

       When I run commands involving BITAND I get TOAD ERROR "Datatype is not supported".

select BITAND(1,2) from dual;

I am using Oracle 8i DB and have following Data Types enabled in my TOAD ( 9.0.1.8).

How can I resolve this ?

I assume BITAND applies to Oracle 8i, Oracle 9i, Oracle 10g, Oracle 11g  !!!

Thanks and Regards,

Shiva.

It sounds like you have a problem with your 10g installation, that error message you list indicates a directory listed in your client path isn't correct. From:...
