Printing a small model (7 tables) to a color printer.
1)Â Get error "Printer doesn't support color
print" in Message Explorer. The selected printer is a color printer. The
error does not affect the print. It does print in color.
2)Â Printing results in a 15.1MB file being sent to the
printer. This seems to be way out of line for a small model. It ties up the
printer during download and leaves a blue square on the screen that doesn't
disappear until the print finishes.
Hi, I had seen a 'Data modeler' yahoo group, about a year ago - it is
not tool specific, and I cannot remember or find the name now.. can
someone pls tell me the name...thanks in advance
New Beta – bug fixes, great enhancements, support via the
community.
Why would one change the system date and risk to use an old Beta
version?
In any case, we recommend to update.

Hi,
I've had a request from a modeller...
is there an option to have a constraint named as
schema.constraintName ?
I’d like to thank you for your fantastic co-operation. Our
developers have appreciated your help very much.
They have found the problem and will fix it. (CR #

As soon as I have more details from them (fix or info in which
release it will be corrected), I’ll let you know.
Note: George, let me invite you to visit our Modeling community
where issues on TDM v3 are discussed, and flash movies, sample scripts etc.

Hi Vaclav
I've narrowed it down further putting
if ( PropertyConversion.PropertyName != "Category" ) in the script.
This skips the Value1.caption statement for the object type that
causes the error.

Hi George,
there is no debug possibility in TDM3 and the only log item is Message

How can I model the situation where 2 or more entities are subtypes of a
parent
entity and the distinguishing attribute is in the parent entity. For
example I have a
SIGNAL table for which signals can be either analog (A) or digital(D). the
subtype
entities are ANALOG and DIGITAL.
I think you need to look at the paper on Quest about super and sub-types. It's a logical (i.e. business reqs) model - and is not supposed to show implementation. TDM then offers three choices on how to turn that into a physical model for a particular database platform. Then you would compare the logical to the physical if things change ...
Actually - the web page does not seem to have the right paper listed - so I'll email you a copy :)

Bert:
Thanks. Which notation is this? Before I try, do you have any thoughts on this? We only use TDM to document our database. We use Toad for Oracle or SQL to update the database. If I change my physical model in TDM to show subtypes, how would a future reverse engineering and model comparison see the subtypes?

Vladka:
I was able to print the PDF to ANSI D paper using Adobe Reader. Given the
number of attempts to print, I have
have probably covered the combinations you have suggested. You really
should borrow a plotter to do
proper testing.

Subject: RE: [toaddm] TDM 3 Issues
Hello Dave,
Here I’m with an update.
Unfortunately, our testers cannot reproduce the problem as we don’t have a
plotter.
Nevertheless, they printed PDF and also sent the ERD to our printer and it
was fine.
You write PDF worked for you. Could you please try to print the pdf in your
plotter?
Another note: Do you set up the sizes and print right away? Or did you set
up the sizes one day and print the other day?
Did you save your model?
- If you set up a page format and do not save it, default values
will be restored.
- Page format values are saved together with a model. If you
change them, you should save the model.
Well, I hope this information will help you a little.
Have a nice day.
