but that doesn't work:

$ head -1 ~/.todo.actions.d/datefilter.awk

#!/usr/bin/gawk --re-interval -f

$ chmod u+x ~/.todo.actions.d/datefilter.awk

$ ~/.todo.actions.d/datefilter.awk
Usage: gawk [POSIX or GNU style options] -f progfile [--] file ...
