Re:Honda's Hovering Concept Car

Neat concept but if Honda EVER releases this sort of vehicle to the public it
will have to be highly computerized/managed. Simply put, not entirely automous
control by computer, but just about. GPS, proximity sensors and all manner of
automated traffic control "could" make this form of transportation practical for
the everyday joe.

GPS/proximity sensors and 'locked' controls would prevent anyone taking off in
to the flight/trajectory path of another flying vehicle
and designated automated 'skyways' could keep things on track.
Travellers would program their destination, click enter/confirm and basically
sit back and enjoy the ride. Very cool but it will be quite a while before we
see these vehicles for sale in the local showroom.

systems seem to be becoming more common and usefull. Conventional "RADAR" for
air traffic is based on working transponder signals, a very old system.
Military RADAR systems actually pick up the odd pieces of metal the craft is
made of. The Hollywood movie "Stealth" is a ways off with autonomous aircraft.
The reality is that ground operating autonomous vehicles are becoming more
possible at great cost currently. One day driving maybe less hands on and more
comand and discuss.
