FWB ( Facebook Weekend Beta ) is a combination of the Barcamp adhoc
unconference and the StartupWeekend concept. It brings together
entrepreneurs, Facebook developers, and designers to create products
over a weekend. It's a fun (and productive) way to spend a weekend and
a great way to build an app, start a company, or meet talented people.
Anyone can participate, whether you already have a team and an idea or
if you want to lend your talents and join a group. At the end of the
weekend, teams present their applications and business plans to a
panel of experts including venture capitalists, successful
entrepreneurs and Facebook industry experts. Teams have own their idea
and decide how to they want to develop the idea/company or project.
FWB is brought to you by Innovation Toronto, a not-for-profit
organization promoting entrepreneurship in the GTA.
To find out more check out the Innovation Toronto Facebook Weekend
BETA web site or the discuss pages below:

Besure to check out some of the ideas/groups/companies forming in the
discussion group and register with one that interests you.
Check out the site. We've announced that we're sponsoring a Flex Camp
on November 15th. Hope you can make it.

Hahaha... Oliver, don't feel too bad... I played it for the first time yesterday

played any video games in such a long time. Was nice to let the inner-child out
again! ;)
Looking forward to the Nov. 15th event.

Check out the adobe site http://onair.adobe.com/api/
for some code examples and such !!
Make sure you hit up the next group meeting on the 15th of Nov....
Hey everyone,
My name is Frank, and I'm primarily a Javascript/Front-end developer who's VERY
interested
in learning Flex/AS3.
Glad to have joined the group, and look forward to learning more.
By the way, anyone attend the AIR Bus Tour yesterday? How sweet was that!?
Hello Flex Gurus of TO,
I am in the process of making a Flex client in addition to HTML client
with Rails back-end. Most of things are done except FileUpload to
Amazon S3 via Attachment_FU (Rails plug-in).
Has anyone been able to do Flex FileUPload with Attachment_FU (Rails
Backend)?
I am kinda scratching my head how to translate HTML (Rails friendly)
speak into Flex speak.
Hey everyone;
Just wanted to say hi to the few people that are here. Thanks a lot
to Oliver for setting this up. It'll be a good chance to communicate
directly with other Flex developers.
In any case, I'm doing a lot of Flash stuff, but right now it's mainly
AS2 stuff in the Flash IDE. I expect that by the end of Q1 2008 we'll
have migrated our project over to AS3, but probably not in Flex. It's
conceivable that parts of it might be done in Flex. We are currently
investigating looking at doing an AIR application.
I don't get out to too many of the meetings, but I'll watch this
mailing list with interest.
So, hello world!
James Eberhardt
Hi folks,
I finally got around to adding a discussion area for Toronto-area Flex
folks.
Feel free to post any questions, jobs or opinions related to Flex/AIR
or RIA's in general.
Enjoy,
Oliver
