Yes, it is true. We are releasing transLucid v1.65 today..!
Intro
This is exactly 222 days after we released the previous version and
about 192 days too late for which we want to greatly apologise. But
then again, this should also show that we are in it for the long run
and committed to the continuation of the project. No promises but we
are working hard on getting back to a monthly (!) release-cycle.
In the last 6 months, the core team (Agnes, Ton and myself) has been
mainly focused on the specification and development (thanks to our
outsourcing team NextGen Solutions) of the hosted transLucid solution
available under www.translucidonline.com; more details on that in
another mail. The project is also now governed by Pantha Software Ltd.
so that there is a clear responsibility and ownership of the
transLucid project. Additionally, given that we are still a small team
with limited budget we simply had to ensure that we would financially
survive while continuing our efforts in regards to transLucid.

Changes over previous version
* Greatly expanded documentation available under

* Many new templates to choose from with more in the pipeline
* Fixed bugs (such as integration of logo) and cross-browser
compatibility issues in templates
* Multiple sub-sites can run independently on 1 server
* Core-libraries and templates can now be shared across multiple
instances of transLucid sites
* Siblings - that is pages on the same hierarchical level as the
current page - are now displayed in editing mode
* PersonalBrain V3 importing/exporting now works even when there is no
MySQL database (bugfix)
* Notice in PHP (4+) bug that "only variables should be assigned by
reference" fixed
Known issues
* When using file-based storage (RSS) instead of MySQL, you can not
use fulltext search
* No other critical issues known at this point (all that we rated as
non-critical can be accessed here http://pantha.net/team/bugtracking/ )
A look into the coming weeks
First of all, i would like to re-iterate that the core of transLucid
is going to remain open-source. It can be downloaded under sourceforge
by anyone and we are *now* accepting new designers and developers to
join the team!
With the introduction of translucidonline.com we will invest further
into the development of a new plugin-architecture and an extended
importing & exporting capability. Some of this functionality will move
to being proprietary although we will be looking for ways to
transition them into public space as we go.
Most importantly, we have an expanded and larger team of developers
that will support us going forward in the continuation of this
transLucid journey. This will hopefully translate into shortened
release-cycles and many more innovations down the road for the greater
benefit of our growing user-base. We look forward to supporting you
and making transLucid the best publishing system ever!
Outro
As always, we look forward to hear your thoughts on transLucid and the
things you would like us to improve on in our 'transLucid yahoogroup'
or by writing us under info@... .
All the Best,
Bjoern
