Yup, you were dealing with something that used Curses. First time I
saw curses.h referenced I had no idea what Ncurses or Libcurses was,
and I assumed it was the "Aw snap" header for crash handling.

Curses is an ancient unix package used for making 'windows' on an old fashioned ascii display terminal. I can't imagine anyone using it anymore....

And plenty of user apps like Finch, Aptitude and Irssi use Curses. Though at the moment, Apache and PHP are running faster than irssi or Finch on my little...
