Hi,
I am trying to put .. on TS-7400 with a sdcard.
I have followed very nice instructions given in ealier thread
512mbsd-7400-linux2629-lenny-eabi.dd
.
1. I followed instruction and created 4 partiotions as mentioned ..
     Q. The first unused partition should have some mininum size.?

2. After booting i try to send 'tsbootrom-update' .. i had to do some random
stuff before able to transfer on the board. There was no lrz command on board ,
however it went in some how.

3. Then when i did tsbootrom-update -s -m $mac and then reboot....
the board was continously rebooted in a loop just prining the first line of
"TS-SDBOOT Properite....."

I had to remove sd card and reset

Please help !

I need to us the apt-get function of Debian to install ALSA but how do I get
access to the internet to download it. I only have a dial up connection so the
only way would be to share the internet from my host PC. I have tried but
failed. Any suggestions?

That's why I said, as I remember :) I know I did have difficulty a few
years ago trying to add a GPIO expander to the bus and ended up going
with bit-banged I2C instead on two of the EP9302s port pins.

How can that be?

The EP9302 won't boot unless the SPI bus is working correctly - meaning
that the SPI_MISO on the TMP124 is HiZ.

The only issue I see with the EP9302's SPI interface is if your board
has the temperature sensor option. As I remember from my 7200 the temp
sensor is not SPI compliant as it doesn't tri-state it's outputs, making
it difficult to add another device to the bus. If you don't have the
temp sensor then it should work fine, or if it does you may have to
disconnect it for the time being.

You also need the ts7300 opencore project also in the files area

:( I know it's not the perfect scenario and it's not going to look pretty but is
it possible to hook up the microphone to the ADC and the DIO. The video portion
might have to be put on hold because I would have to get the TS-7KV to support
VGA. I would also like to know how to get the microphone input into my code, is
there a special library to use on the TS-7250?

So, my questions are:
Is it possible to hook up the microphone to the ADC and the DIO so that I can
get microphone input?
Is there anything special C libraries I need to us to get a microphone input?

Thanks

oh boy, Sorry to be a bit of a party pooper here. But from the questions
you are asking, you have a steep learning curve ahead. I'd hazard a guess
this really is not the right forum for asking such advice.

Why don't you start simpler? Hook up the microphone to a standard PC and
write your heart monitor for that platform. Do it on a linux based PC
desktop first. Then get your school to buy more appropriate hardware - one
with built-in audio and vga capabilities.

I would like to create a heart monitor using a ts-7250 my school just purchased.
I would like to read input from a microphone and display it on a screen. I got
the board hooked up to my desktop via the 9 pin serial port and running a
terminal emulator. But that is about as far as I have gotten. How could I hook
up a microphone and a screen so that I can write some code that will do what I

Maybe a corrupt file?

You should have been able to read the sd card from Windows. Since you couldn't,
that makes it suspect.

You might try posting to some Eclipse forums for more help, or get TS to send
you a new SD card

Also, make sure you have a working Java Runtime (JRE) installed.

The eclipse site says you need JRE version 5.
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/moreinfo/jre.php

Assuming you already have JRE running, you can open the Java Control Panel to
the advanced tab and set some parameters that may help you debug the issue, like
Debugging>>Enable Tracing, and Java console>Show Console.

If all that is correct, take a look at my runEclipse-Win.bat file below, it
seems like I had made some other changes to get it working and don't remember
what.

@echo off

echo Technologic Systems
echo Eclipse-based development environment for TS-7800 ARM platform

echo Setting ARM cross-compiling and Java environment...
SET PREFIX=D:\DEV\Tools\Linux
SET CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%PREFIX%\devel-tools\java-win\jre\lib
SET
PATH=%PATH%;%PREFIX%\devel-tools\java-win\jre\bin;%PREFIX%\devel-tools\java-win\\
bin;%PREFIX%\devel-tools\crosstool-win\bin;%PREFIX%\devel-tools\crosstool-cygwin\
\bin;%PREFIX%\devel-tools\cygwin

echo Loading Eclipse CDT...
%PREFIX%\devel-tools\eclipse\eclipse.exe

Probably obvious, but have you tried opening a command window and then executing
the bat file (as opposed to double-clicking the bat file). This may give you
more information in the command window.

I discovered that was one problem, and I fixed it with an absolute path. Now I
have another problem. The Eclipse startup banner shows up for a moment, then
disappears. Eclipse doesn't open.

I tried to run eclipse.exe directly, and got a message box saying that an error
occurred, and that I should check the generated log file. The log file showed
that a java.lang.NumberFormatException occurred, and also gave a stack trace.

I have a TS7500 that interfaces via usb to another board 's usb
connector, which in turn is driven by a an on board silabs cp2103 that
has as an input some uart i think.

I have source code for the driver , but it required some changes to
build and it does not create the ttyusb0 I was hoping to see.

Has anyone interfaced to this chip?

Edit the bat file and make sure the PREFIX=path is correct.
Use an absolute path for best results.

We just got a TS-7800 sample kit, and it had a 2GB micro SD card with Eclipse
and all the other goodies included. Windows refused to recognize the card, but
mounting tssdcardb1 and using FTP to transfer everything over wasn't a big deal.

Unfortunately, when I try to run runEclipse-Win.bat, I get the quick flash of a
command console, then nothing. Am I missing a step or something?

Yeah. I'm not really using it to its full potential; I'm more interested in the
sleep function than its original backup role.

In the end, I've decided to disable the BAT3 batteries altogether - my external
batteries are huge, and experience says that NiMH batteries that aren't
purpose-built for cold, crap out at -40 anyway. The sleep timer seems to work
fine without them.

Thanks for the feedback, though!

If you followed the instructions in that thread I linked to below, you should
installed the TS-SDBOOT bootloader.

Can you tell us exactly which steps you've tried so far, and which ones did or
didn't work for you?

I don't have a BAT3 but there have been a number of people over the last
few years post about their problems with the BAT3 :( It looks like a
great thing to have, but it looks worrysome.

To solve your problem I'd look back in the archives and contact TS

I have a very bad experience with BAT-3. It has some serous design problems wich
manifest in strange behaviours under EMC conditions - if your power supply is
not very clean, don't use this board. Plus, contacts supplied with it are low
quality - I had simillar behaviour because of loose contacts. And it gets worse
with time.
Finally, we replaced all of BAT-3 (about a dozen) with different design.

coordinates via Iridium from an ice shelf.

when voltages are low, but the onboard right now is 3.6V and a steady 12.6V on
the line voltage.

usually there's no problem - it sleeps the indicated time, then wakes up fine.
