Dear All,
Here's a link to an article that was mentioned on another
list. It's very relevant to recent problems mentioned here
in the past week or so.
<QUOTE>
How can I recover a corrupt document or template –
and why did it become corrupt?
Article contributed by Dave Rado and John McGhie
The advice in this article applies to all versions of Word,
including those for the Macintosh.

Another very good article on that site is this one:
<QUOTE>
Some Tips and "Gotchas" for those who are new to Word
Especially if migrating from WordPerfect
Article contributed by Dave Rado and Suzanne S. Barnhill
</QUOTE>
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/TipsAndGotchas.htm
Even though it says it's for those new to Word, it's very
worthwhile reading (and following the links to related
articles) even for those who've fought with Word for years.
I love a quote on their home page at
http://word.mvps.org/index.html :
"Word rarely misses an opportunity to perplex."
-- Bob Buckland
Ain't that the truth! ;-D
The whole site is awesome. The articles are written by
people associated with the Microsoft Most Valuable
Professional (MVP) program, so they're definitely Word
gurus. Worth bookmarking.
