Laqtel Ltd has been dealt another blow in its bid to become a
telecommunications provider in T&T, after the company was yesterday
fined $150,000 for breaching terms of its concession granted by the
Telecommunications Authority of T&T (TATT).
The telecommunications hopeful was also ordered to pay additional fines
of $10,000 per day until it meets the $4 million performance bond due
under the concession.
Laqtel was required to post the bond under the terms of a concession
granted to it by TATT for the operation of a public domestic mobile
telecommunications network and public domestic mobile telecommunications
services.
